The Manufacturing and Ops leader is responsible for all aspects of our Rotor Value Stream including, but not limited to, Machining, Assembly, and Cannister Lab. The selected candidate will have 6 direct reports with 75 total employees in a 24/5 operation.


Core responsibilities


Incorporate strategic and policy development aspects that will have medium term consequences on the operation of the Rotor Department. Establishes objectives, policies, standards, and production schedules in the production department to ensure volume, quality, and cost efficiency. Manage the production function to meet all the assigned KPIs and collaborate with other functional teams. Manage the hiring, staffing and maintenance of a diverse and effective workforce. Responsible for career development / planning, performance, and D&I discussions with team members. Ensure adherence to the highest safety standards by implementation or assisting with implementation of best practices.


You will be responsible for the department budget plan and control. Be the key driver to implement the lean culture and continue improvement. Responsible for driving actions to meet customer On Time Delivery requirements as well as internal inventory objectives. Provides direction coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.


Determine capital budgets and equipment needs for department and execute action plans to implement and meet long term capacity and customer demand. Utilizes lean system tools to drive efficiency and cost savings improvements. Understanding forecast, working with Business Unit and Commercial team to understand monthly run rates of product mix. Experience in driving strategic actions to improve associate engagement and retention.


Core qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related field


• 5+ years of related work experience required with CNC Milling and Turning, or leading a machining environment


• 5+ years' experience in people management


• Proven experience in executing projects


• Knowledge of project management techniques and tools


• Experience driving continuous improvement activities in a lean environment
