The Brand Marketing Director is accountable and responsible for developing and managing the brand strategy and development and delivery of brand objectives and goals for specific brand(s), sub-brand(s) or SBU(s) within the Parexel portfolio (brand) to support growth and profitability. S/he is accountable and responsible for the development of customer focused and competitive strategy and marketing initiatives that will deliver growth for Parexel and drive commercial ROI. 

The Brand Marketing Director defines the vision and instills it across all levels of brand organization. S/he oversees the brand strategy, go-to-market planning, optimization, and drives cross-functional collaboration within the business and with external partners, enabling strong, collaborative working relationships.

Critical to this role is the ability to harness and communicate the expertise of the global organization and to take ambiguous concepts and early stage ideas and drive them towards tangible, actionable initiatives, leveraging creative thinking, problem solving and initiative and follow-through.

Key Accountabilities:

Brand Management

  • Ensure a deep understanding of customer needs, and the competitive environment.

  • Responsible for development of compelling brand strategy, defining growth objectives and oversight of strategy execution.

  • Responsible for working with key stakeholders to define commercial positioning and go-to-market plans for new services and for life cycle management of services/products within the brand portfolio. 

  • Defines target customers and segments, the promotional market mix and brand engagement strategies.

  • Responsible for the development of events strategy aligned with brand programs, including defining commercial priorities and aligning the expectations of all stakeholders.

  • Analyze buyers, market opportunities and the competitive landscape. Responsible for the generation of insights from these analyses to create data-driven recommendations. 

  • Accountable for the development of brand building strategies across all channels including agency-led campaign tactics, events and communications.

  • Collaborate closely with Corporate Communications to ensure alignment of plans and program execution.

  • Engage stakeholders across the business to ensure alignment and engagement with the vision, commercial priorities and brand strategy.

  • Prioritization of initiatives and resources and agreeing on ‘trade-offs’ with stakeholders.

  • Write compelling and data orientated recommendations to executive leadership.

  • Develop and present business cases that include market size assessment, growth rates, ROI analysis, pipeline health, risk assessment and overall strategy.

  • Accountable and responsible for budget management.

  • Manage agency relationship and partnerships with other external providers.


  • Envision, energize and enable the brand organization.

  • Establish productive relationships with commercial, scientific and operational colleagues.

  • Acts as an effective brand ambassador, communicating across the organization.

  • Creates and communicates brand strategy vision and executes on that vision.  

  • Writes and delivers a brand plan with clear objectives, goals, strategies and measures


  • Acts with a sense of urgency.

  • Strategic thinker and problem solver with a bias toward action, execution and measurement.

  • Initiative and follow-through – hands on approach

  • Ability to synthesize disparate perspectives and complex objectives into compelling positioning and value messages.

Knowledge and Experience: 

  • 12+ years of experience in marketing strategy planning and delivery of results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proven business acumen with relevant industry expertise.  

  • Proven brand leadership and success in similar organizational context.

  • Experienced in global brand management. 

  • CRO industry competitive dynamics and pharma industry understanding

  • Prior success as a highly effective cross-functional collaborator.

  • Demonstrated success in driving results in a matrix environment and through cross-functional teams.

  • Expertise in positioning complex service offerings in a highly competitive environment.

  • Brand and sales management

  • Commercial strategy Marketing in B-B and/or services industries


  • Bachelor's degree; master's preferred
