Lockheed Martin is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineering Manager for the Orlando, FL location. This position will serve as the Mechanical Lead and Engineering & Technology (E&T) Manager to perform the mechanical design, design concepts, layouts, engineering documentation, trade studies, drawing release, weights, tolerance analysis, design concepts and detail designs to fit Platform Requirements for a selected program.

The selected candidate will be working with mechanical analyst to ensure the design meets all requirements. As an Engineering & Technology (E&T) Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for the management and development of their team, support of department initiatives and directorate undertakings, and driving technical excellence, affordability, and program execution.

For the management and development of their team, the E&T manager is responsible for providing technical coaching and mentoring, work assignments, employee career development, continuous ongoing feedback, and being their employees advocate in opportunity discussions.

To support functional initiatives and directorate undertakings, the E&T manager is responsible for coordinating employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessments, salary planning, recognition/disciplinary actions, and engineering competency development.

To drive technical excellence, affordability, and program execution, the E&T manager is responsible for supporting program development, execution of program requirements, adherence to engineering development processes, promoting customer focus, and serving as the technical conscience for their program.

Basic Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an Active Department of Defense Interim Secret Clearance to start.

Must have a Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited university (preferably in an engineering focused discipline) with a minimum of 9 years professional experience or 15 years professional experience in lieu of degree.

Must have extensive CAD (preferably Pro-E) experience specializing in design.

Desired Skills:

Active DoD Secret Clearance.

Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years experience as a technical lead (or IPT lead with similar technical leadership experience).

Engineering management or Engineering team lead experience including task planning, budget management, subcontract management and/or employee development and mentoring.

Process Improvement and Affordability experience.

Full Lifecycle Development Experience.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical systems/programs.

Self-Starter Personality; Ability to multitask.

Strong business acumen, management influence and whole systems thinking.

Demonstrated ability to lead technical efforts associated with all program phases of product development.

Technical depth and breadth in one or more Engineering disciplines.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.

Experience with sensor/ missile design, development and testing.

Experience with hardware development.

Manufacturing process development experience.

Control Account Management experience.

Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams.
