Due to our exciting collaboration with Gilead Sciences, we are looking for a Medical Director in France! Are you ready conquer the world and make it happen with us?
Develop, manage and lead our Medical Affairs team in France
Work with Heads of Therapeutic Areas to ensure appropriate alignment of Global resources and activities with Global Strategies and implement therapeutic area and disease area / product strategies in the region
Allocate and oversee utilization of local medical budget
Establish and track appropriate performance metrics
Collaborate with Legal, Compliance and Regulatory to ensure proper and ethical interactions between regional medical personnel and external stakeholders
Act as a senior company representative both internally and externally
Define and develop required team competencies and coordinate with Human Resources / Talent Management to recruit and retain local medical team
Monitor team performancein terms of goals and delivery against in-year medical plans and identify areas for development
Line manage and develop Country Medical Advisor/Medical Science Liaison
Ensure that all promotional materials and events are in compliance with Galapagos SOP’s and policies, local laws and regulations
Implement appropriate standards of practice (SOPs)
Who are you ?
We are looking for a new colleague in our global medical affairs department with a solid medical / scientific degree and background and >5 years of experience in biopharmaceutical medicine andmedical affairs.
A genuine interest to advance science and healthcare in these areas to ultimately meet patient’s needs is mandatory. You are experienced leading multidisciplinary / virtual teams at the brand or disease area levels in country, regional or global organizations in field-based roles (Medical Director, Medical Science Liaison). With strong people management skills, establishing and recalibrating priorities, providing constructive feedback and appraisal. You are a team player with an open mind set who “dares to try” and can easily shift gears as needed.
You combine your medical experience and knowledge with good business acumen and develop highly credible relationships, influencing relevant internal / external stakeholders.
Negotiating across and outside the organization and collaborating with local and global Commercial and Development functions is something you enjoy and can be accountable for.
You are honest and firm when it comes down to scientific and clinical data and will always keep in mind what it means for a patient with everything you do.
Unquestioned ethics are a must.
You are fluent in French; working in an international environment, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are also required.
