The Commercial PC business, part of HP's Personal Systems Group (PS) is a dynamic growing business. We are a high-growth, fast paced business within responsible for solutions across notebooks, desktops, convertibles, displays and accessories. As part of the future solutions team, you will be responsible to define new product or services concepts within collaboration team to realize the HP vision for the Future of Work. The role will require managing deliverables through the collaboration product planning lifecycle – from concept planning through product planning definition closure, while driving a smooth transition to product launch and end-of-life execution and transition.


Based on trends and insights on conferencing/collaboration landscape you will be driving existing portfolio, new products and ideating on future product concepts. Work with System Engineers, Designers, Supply-Chain, Go-to-market managers, and the Executive team to deliver our vision of seamless collaboration/meeting room experience. Work with strategic partners & lead customers to build a robust ecosystem around our portfolio and drive user adoption. You will be inspiring the broader organization, and using design thinking with the product managers, innovation teams, and the CTO to translate the insights into meaningful solutions and experiences. You will be working with the VPs and Directors of each of the commercial PC businesses as well as services to build great customer experiences by working in a highly matrixed, cross-functional team to gather customer insights, prioritize use cases, and define and curate new product and services concepts for the future workforce and workplace. Product marketing and experiences definition are key capabilities, and engineering or technical acumen very much welcome.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Gathering and understanding key customer insights

  • Performing analysis of technology and market trends while developing a market growth opportunity analysis within the industry

  • Lead ideation sessions within the group to generate ideas of how to solve customer problems

  • Collaborating with other product managers across different businesses to create complete product solutions

  • Working with engineering and design team to prototype, pilot and curate solutions for working and collaborating

  • Creating and managing effective content and processes for product positioning and messaging for regional partners, sales force and channel partners

  • Working in partnership with downstream product management teams to ensure we have a strong story and strategy for Go-to-market and external launch messaging and positioning

  • Consistently perform competitive analysis against top industry players to ensure our lineup is differentiated and competitive

  • Support growing the business plan and manage products/solutions to meet revenue and profitability goals in line with team targets.

  • Developing marketing process enhancements to ensure that the overall collaboration marketing process can grow and scale with the business.

  • Preparing key executive and external product strategy presentations

  • Building the business case, defining the TAM and HP opportunity and investment required to determine ROI as input into concept prioritization

  • Drives validation process including with customers, and execution of pilots, including program managing across all parties both internal and external partners.

  • Work closely with product development teams throughout the concept phase to ensure smooth transition into roadmap and execution.

  • Support business development managers in the regions with customer opportunities.


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's (undergraduate) degree in engineering/technical field of study preferred

  • Advanced university degree required (e.g., MBA) or demonstrable equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 5-7+ product management experience

  • Experience defining, building, and launching complex systems/platforms


Knowledge and Skills:



  • Understanding of conferencing/collaboration landscape and ecosystem

  • Thorough understanding and mastery of basic marketing principles and product development process. Previous experience in high-tech/ video conferencing/audio-visual/personal computers marketing is a plus.

  • Strong ability to empathize with customers and understand their key pain points and needs

  • Proven experience in successfully managing high-volume product categories is a strong requirement.

  • Ability to effectively work as a leader in a cross functional team environment including business and product development, supply chain and procurement processes and execution dependencies.

  • Aptitude for using an analytical approach to business evaluation and problem-solving – with the understanding of how to effectively communicate proposals, results and implications to management teams and external partners.

  • Strong product thinker renowned for customer and technology centric product vision

  • Exceptional ability to execute and influence the direction of a product/technology vision and roadmap. The successful candidate should have a track record of influencing successful product/solution vision/roadmap and executing to a plan

  • Capability to collaborate with and manage external partners in the product development process

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and expertise in communicating with international partners

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, including team-building, conflict resolution, and management.

  • Ability to lead multiple, large, time sensitive projects or work streams
