The Center for Omics Discovery and Epidemiology (CODE) of RTI International has an opening for an early to mid-career scientist, parallel to an Assistant- to Associate-level Professor, to lead and expand a research program to integrate multiple omics data for complex human diseases. RTI provides a strong infrastructure for omics research through a consolidated organization of 4 parallel Centers within the Biostatistics and Epidemiology Division: Center for Bioinformatics; Center for Genomics in Public Health and Medicine; Center for Newborn Screening, Ethics, and Disability Studies; and CODE. Overall, our researchers work across many practice areas, including genetics and epigenetics, epidemiology and public health, environmental exposures, health disparities, biostatistics, and bioinformatics with high-performance computing. CODE researchers emphasize cross-institute and university collaborations to advance understanding of the etiology of complex human diseases, including but not limited to substance use disorders and related health consequences, blood disorders, and respiratory traits, in ethnically and geographically diverse cohorts. The candidate needs a strong analytic background, as evidenced by development of novel statistical methods and/or application of cutting-edge approaches in any research area of complex human disease. This position enables pursuit of a full time, independently-driven, research-focused agenda with the autonomy to collaborate internally and/or externally. This position has no teaching or administrative commitments.

This position is available in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina or Atlanta, Georgia.
