To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Service and Stewardship by administering the activities of the HFMG designated region in a fashion designed to assure success of the clinical programs of the department to continually increase integration of physicians into the Health First delivery system. Participates in strategic planning and development of services across all aspects and geographies of the Health First system. Provides the administrative interface for designated region, with other HFMG regions, and administration. Functions under the supervision of the VP of Operations, and the direction of Community Services Director.


  • Represents the assigned practice sites in working with the Community Services Director to enhance group practice processes and initiatives to include operations improvement initiatives, operations and capital budgeting, third part contracting, quality improvement efforts, interdepartmental initiatives, and HFMG planning activities.

  • Supervises and develops practice managers I & II within each practice.


  • Serves as the liaison between HFMG and non-employed providers to facilitate the business of the medical staff (credentialing, privileging, peer review, and clinical quality).

  • Working effectively with team/work group or those outside formal lines of authority (peers, senior managers) to accomplish organizational foals; taking action that respects the needs and contributions of others; contributing to and accepting the consensus; subordinating own objectives to the objectives of the organization or team.

  • Establish procedures to monitor the results of delegations, assignments, or projects; taking into consideration the skills, knowledge, and experience of the assigned individual and characteristics of the assignment or project, demonstrating proactive communication skills.

  • In support of the HFMG, works collaboratively with corporate support services to include Strategic Services, Legal Services, Marketing, Finance, Philanthropy, Information Systems, Human Resources, and Academic Services.

Quality/No Harm:

  • Represents the regional practice sites in working with COO to enhance group practice processes and initiatives to include operations improvement initiatives, operations and capital budgeting, third party contracting, quality improvement efforts, interdepartmental initiatives, and HFMG planning activities.

  • Supervises and develops practice manager I & II within the practices.


  • Implements all regional practice acquisitions and physician alignments in conjunction with the VP of Operations and Community Services Director.

  • Leads implementation of the regionalization initiatives, always looking to enhance market share and market penetration.

  • Responsibility for HFMG operations to include financial performance, regulatory and coding compliance, quality initiatives, and patient/associate/physician satisfaction.

  • Maintains awareness of and anticipates changes in third part payer approach to physician reimbursement in order to optimize physician business models and contracting strategies.

  • Facilitates the HFMG clinical, educational, and other program development in support of the evolving HF integrated health care delivery model.

  • For multidisciplinary initiatives, represents the interests and resources of the designed region. Develops and oversees a regional infrastructure designed to optimize quality, practice operations, clinical affairs and stewardship.

Customer Experience:

  • Constructing Pro Forma models that accurately reflect scenarios to include practice acquisition, new provider recruitment, changes in service lines, or ad hoc analysis to assist providers in order to address questions regarding provider compensation.

  • Assisting in communication with Physician Services, Human Resources, Legal Compliance, and Accounting as it applies to the administration of physician contracts.

  • Maintaining strictest confidentiality in the areas appropriate.



  • Education: Master’s Degree (MBA/MHA, or other) preferred; or Bachelor’s with 2 years healthcare management experience; or actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program with 2 years healthcare management experience (or equivalent).

  • Work Experience: Progressive medical practice experience required to include management, business development, and financial background.

  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Lean six sigma experience preferred.

  • Problem solving, decision making, analyzing and interpreting complex data/information, researching and preparing comprehensive reports, monitoring quality control standards, organizing and coordinating multiple initiatives independently.

  • Collaboration within and beyond reporting relationships, entrepreneurial and successful negotiations, ability to work independently while maintaining team concept of work.

  • Skills in analyzing, interpreting, and reporting data to identify opportunities and trends.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills


  • Ability to set for long periods of time and perform typing skills using hand, wrist, and arm dexterity up to 2 hours at a time, several times a day.

  • Ability to work flexible and/or long hours as needed.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

  • Ability to be mobile throughout the Health First system.
