Responsible and accountable for the overall service leadership, policy planning, budget, operations and performance of the service line at all sites to include Community Based Outpatient Clinics(CBOS's).
Administrative and clinical responsibilities that impact patient care.
Effective and efficient clinical operations, access, consult management, mortality and other pertinent SAIL performance metrics.
Demonstrates sound interpersonal skills, decision making, teamwork and solid leadership.
Provides oversight of the medicine residents.

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Preferred Experience: A physician that is board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Prefer physician with 2 or more years of experience working as an outpatient physician and/or attending who is intimately involved in access, grid management, consult management flow. Knowledge and skill in using LEAN desirable. Demonstrates excellent communication skills. Must have the ability to prioritize and to make critical decisions.
