This position is located in the Radiology Department of the White River Junction VA Medical Center. The primary purpose of the position is to perform duties and responsibilities of a Radiologist who has Neuroradiology and general radiology skills.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have completed a neuroradiology fellowship or have neuroradiology experience and general radiology skills.

Clinical responsibilities include image interpretation and light procedures as well as radiology resident teaching and some administrative work.

The White River Junction VA is a level II hospital and is closely affiliated with the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Candidate must qualify for an academic appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher within the Department of Radiology, Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth.

We have a history of service excellence and innovation, serving 73,000 veterans in Vermont and New Hampshire. Comprehensive benefits package also includes a pension plan. There are currently 4 regular staff radiologists, looking for a 5th colleague. We also receive support from fee-basis radiologists and teleradiologists. 1) Highly Desired: Neuroradiology fellowship training or experience + General Radiology skills.

Neuroradiology skills: interpret neuro MRI & CT

General Radiology Skills : Interpret X-Ray, CT, US & basic nuclear medicine scan (no cardiac); perform general fluoroscopic procedures.

2) Desired: Interpret DEXA, perform joint injections or other minor invasive procedures.

3) Teaching: Participate in teaching & training of radiology residents; participate in conferences; provide consulting services for the referring clinicians.

4) Administrative/Quality Improvement: Participate in quality control & quality improvement, including peer review activities; participate in administrative duties, as assigned by the Chief of Radiology.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM or 8:30AM - 5:00PM

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 05/27/2019.

Basic Requirements:

United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.

Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.

Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Preferred Experience: American Board of Radiology certification or eligibility is required. Neuroradiology fellowship training or experience preferred.
