Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS) is looking for a Principal Quality Engineer for our Palmdale, CA facility.

The responsibilities include: 

Develops and implements program quality plans and procedures using statistical quality control techniques, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses

Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards (AS9100)

Supports development and modernization programs to assure requirements are understood and achieved

Reviews, analyzes, and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems

Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for discrepancies

Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met

Conducts and facilitates Root Cause Analysis

Ensures plans for acceptance of hardware provide adequate direction to assure meeting contract requirements

Self-starter with demonstrated problem-solving skills who can work with minimal direction 


Basic Qualifications:  

Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) related Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

5 years Aerospace/Aviation experience

Understands AS9100DStandards and Specifications

Proficiency using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Experienced in Corrective Action

Technical Presentation Skill

Must have an active in scope Secret Clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Advanced STEM degree

Six Sigma Green Belt

Willing to work at multiple locations

Experienced in supplier requirements flow-down and supplier product development

Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
