Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is looking for a highly motivated Principal Human Factors Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at one our Northern Virginia locations (Herndon, VA; Fairfax, VA; Reston, VA) or Washington D.C. The Human Factors Engineer conducts cognitive task analyses with embedded COCOM analysts to understand their analytic workflows, develops sketches and wireframes (e.g., inspired by commercial designs), and iterates through sketches and wireframes with analysts to optimize the user experience.


Job Duties:


Develops prototypes from wireframe design concepts and evaluates them with analysts in the SI&T or pre-Prod environments to collect feedback and incorporate feedback into the sprint backlog

Participates in sprint review demonstrations to gather analyst feedback and add to the backlog


Collaborates with other scrum teams to share user experience best practices and lessons learned and with the Training and Outreach team to update user training materials to reflect new and modified user interfaces 


Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience OR A PhD; An additional 4 years of experience maybe considered in lieu of a degree requirement

Experience or working knowledge of: User experience design, cognitive task analysis, concept design, sketches and wireframes, user interface prototyping


An Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance (or higher) with the ability to obtain Polygraph once hired


Preferred Qualifications:


Experience in workflow design and optimization
