In Survivability, Targeting & Sensing Solutions, we provide affordable and highly accurate precision-guided munitions, helmet-mounted and head-up displays for fighter aircrafts, and advanced electro-optical/laser technology that detect and defeat threats to air and ground platforms.
BAE Systems is looking for an Operations Principal Quality Engineer for their Huntsville, Alabama facility. In this role you will provide Quality Engineering floor support, guidance and instruction to inspectors, operators and other functional personnel in support of manufacturing. The Quality Engineer will also support the Quality Management System by performing Audits and creating or updating command media.
Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluations and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment, and conducts quality assurance tests. Perform Product Process Verifications/First Article Inspections.
Perform First Article Inspections.
Perform trend analysis and utilize six-sigma quality methodologies help drive continuous improvement. May be required to obtain Green Belt Certification.
Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to lead Root Cause Corrective Actions and Teams. Proven teamwork and leadership skills; able to work across boundaries with multiple functions and program teams.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience

Root Cause and Corrective Action methodology

This position requires traveling to Supplier 50% of the time for the first year (Some overnight required)

Lean Six Sigma GB/BB Certification
Technical Degree in Engineering
DoD Electronics Manufacturing Experience
