Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a tenacious, focused, and curious software engineer. This position supports the integration environment for the state-of-the-art Advanced EHF (AEHF) military communications satellite program, and is located on-site in Sunnyvale, California.
As part of the AEHF Payload Test Equipment team supporting spacecraft/payload integration, you will participate in payload checkout, troubleshooting, and sustainment of the testing environment (test sets). You will be called upon to use your superior problem-solving skills to identify problems within a complex hardware/software system, determine root cause, follow a structured process to design and implement a resolution, and to re-deliver the test environment back to our customer. You will learn about the design and implementation of high-speed RF and digital communications systems, and will put that knowledge to use in keeping the integration efforts on schedule.
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of Software Engineering experience; OR a STEM Master's Degree with 3 years of Software Engineering experience.
Proficiency in C/C++ and in structured software development in instrumentation control.
Experience troubleshooting embedded, real-time software on a VxWorks platform.
Ability to support 24/7 operations during formal test periods, or when equipment failures impact program schedules.
Active Secret security clearance.
Master's Degree in a STEM discipline
Previous experience as part of an Integration and Test (I&T) effort. Previous experience developing software to command/control GPIB (IEEE-488) interfaces.
Excellent interpersonal communications and collaboration skills.
