The Patient Innovation Center (PIC) Procurement Manager position is a unique role at Parexel. In this position, s/he/they will have the opportunity to innovate and improve the patient and caregiver clinical trial experiences and their outcomes. To accomplish this, the PIC Procurement Manager will be responsible to drive and manage measurable improvement in Parexel's procurement strategies for assigned categories. The role requires a solid knowledge of the market(s) for assigned categories as well as procurement best practices, theories, principles and disciplines. The PIC Manager will evaluate variable issues & risks; facilitate mitigation & resolution of issues & interacts with management on a regular basis.

  • The PIC Manager will support colleagues with the procurement and supplies necessary for the delivery of projects for the Patient Innovation Center. S/he/they will participate in activities to help secure vendors, supply chain, new tools and services,to ensure excellent performance against business and project goals, as well as build strong internal and external relationships.

  • With a “can do” attitude, they will have a background in procurement and ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget, to the highest quality, and compliant with Parexel processes and ICH GCP guidelines

  • Possess Global Category Market Expertise - Remain current with the future trends within the marketplace by maintaining relationships with suppliers, and other market experts; recommend new technologies and solutions

  • World Class Service - Work with key management & Category Lead to help develop the strategic direction to attain world-class service delivery

  • Process Standardization - Facilitate cooperation & the development of company wide standards to facilitate strong links between Parexel and its suppliers; lead & drive supplier development where appropriate


Knowledge and Experience:  

  • 5 - 7+ years procurement experience within clinical setting

  • 2 - 3+ years vendor relationship management

  • Knowledge of category management, business & supply chain management practices, theories, principles & disciplines

  • Ability to perform with independence & judgement & seeks guidance when necessary

  • Proficient category knowledge including market place, key suppliers and future trends

  • Highly motivated with ability to help drive change in a decentralized/matrixed organization

  • Project management skills and results oriented

  • Effective negotiation & influence skills

  • Track record for cultivating strong relationships with client & supplier stakeholders that have resulted in high customer satisfaction

  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to distill, synthesize and draw conclusions on large amounts of data.

  • Have a sound knowledge of patient centricity in a relevant clinical research role at sponsor/CRO e.g., project leadership, sales, patient recruitment.

  • Good understanding of the health technology development and access processes

  • Ability to apply good judgment and lead problem solving within the team


  • BS in Finance, Business or Supply Chain. MBA preferred

  • C.P.M or equivalent professional certification preferred
