The Professional Practice Senior Manager – SEC Services is responsible for reviewing client periodic filings with the SEC (e.g., Form 10-K and 10-Qs), registration statements, financial statements for acquisitions of and dispositions of businesses and equity method investments, comfort letters, and other filings for issuance of debt and equity securities. This role is charged with reviewing the filings for compliance with US GAAP disclosure requirements, compliance with SEC rules and regulations, as well as Firm policy. The Professional Practice Senior Manager will also assist with technical accounting consultations, drafting thought leadership publications, Firm responses to requests for comment from standard setters, as well as preparation of training and presentation materials and delivery of presentations to internal and external constituencies.


Qualifications


Education


- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, required


- MBA/Master’s in Accountancy, preferred


Experience


- Eight (8) or more years public accounting or relevant work experience, required


- Experience with public company financial reporting, required


- Experience on SEC engagements/clients, preferred

License(s)/Certification(s)


- Active licensed US CPA, recognized active International Equivalent or unique qualification as defied by BDO’s Assurance Licensing Policy, required


- If active international equivalent or unique qualifications, required to obtain an active US CPA license within approved timeframe as defined by firm licensing requirement guidelines


Software


- Experience in the use of various assurance applications and research tools as is appropriate for this level, required


- Microsoft Office Products, including Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required


Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


- Sound GAAP and GAAS knowledge


- Familiarity with SEC and PCAOB reporting rules


- Possess proven solid verbal and written communication skills


- Possess executive presence - need to be able to discuss matters with engagement partners, client’s personnel, and prepare and present presentations to clients and potential clients


- Possess relationship-building skills with internal and external clients


- Possess solid decision-making skills


- Able to resolve complex accounting and financial reporting issues
