54 people have viewed this jobYear Up's National Corporate Engagement team seeks an experienced and dynamic manager to lead an 15+ person regional sales team. This team is charged with securing 640+ internships seats at top companies on a semiannual basis - a target that represents a vital opportunity for our high-potential young adults, and an annual revenue stream of $25 million+. Reporting to the National Director of Corporate Engagement, the Regional Director, Corporate Engagement will have tangible targets related to managing processes and driving team success in developing leads, closing sales, and managing client relationships. The Regional Director will be managing staff across our Western region.
As an ideal candidate for this position, you are someone who wants to leverage your demonstrated management and sales experience in a mission-driven social enterprise. You'll possess top-notch relationship building and management skills, with an ability to immediately build rapport with existing partners. A successful Senior Director will bring a dynamic leadership style and an outcomes-oriented approach to sales.
In keeping with Year Up's values, the Regional Director, Corporate Engagement will have the opportunity to interact with Year Up students regularly to help create and sustain a positive educational environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership
Manage direct reports in a collaborative, team-based environment, thinking through staff development, roles, and team growth as needed in order to deliver a strong and effective sales strategy
Develop and implement annual regional business plan in coordination with the National Director of Corporate Engagement, including projected budget and revenue forecasts
Move team towards outcomes, closing new business, renewing existing business and successfully managing all accounts with a high level of service
Leverage influence skills to work effectively within team and across departments to build consensus and maintain accountability to targets
Ensure collaboration across departments and teams as needed, to ensure that students' training strategically aligns with corporate partner needs
Embody "servant leadership" style to empower strengths of all team members
Work closely with Executive Directors and Program teams at each site to ensure alignment to revenue/internship seat goals and strategy
Other duties as assigned
Revenue Generation
Drive site performance, ensuring national targets are being met: 25% of internship opportunities sold 3 months before placement, 65% sold 2 months before placement, and 95% sold 1 month before placement
Engage with executives and decision-makers as needed to maximize all opportunities to close a sale
Create and share effective proposals featuring Year Up's model and past successes for solving corporate entry-level talent need
Ensure maintenance of accurate records of sales and prospecting activities in Salesforce.com
Relationship Management
Configure the team to effectively manage all aspects of corporate relationships, supporting two 6-month internship cycles per year
Oversee logistics related to client accounts
Create a culture of high service, high support, high expectations in work with corporate partners
Site Team/Learning Community Member
Serve as a coach/mentor for a small number of current students
Join and sometimes facilitate weekly group sessions with students
Participate in staff meetings and trainings
QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years of experience building and managing an array of executive relationships across major accounts; direct sales or sales management experience leading regional teams
7+ years of consultative sales experience, requiring strong business acumen and an aggressive, adaptable selling style strongly preferred
5+ years of people management experience, including leading by influence
Successful track record in high-level sales positions
Demonstrated ability to set direction, manage complex processes, and enable high-quality organizational growth
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage the sales pipeline process
Documented strengths in meaningful relationship building and people management and development
Desire to work in a fluid dynamic organization, and interest in the nonprofit space
Ability to lead, willingness to be led, comfort with situational leadership
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required, familiarity with Salesforce.com helpful
