Establish strategic priorities and key objectives for the region and hold team accountable for achieving those goals

Manage team performance and market reporting activities, encouraging open sharing of ideas to develop methodology

Coach and mentor staff, developing talent base and leaders for succession

Understand relevance of information to the customer and facilitate the development of value-added pricing coverage and other market commentary, including in-depth analysis

Ensure commentary and pricing is accurate and aligned with Platts assessment methodologies and risk requirements

Establish best practices and systems to improve quality and analysis of price assessments and market coverage

The impact: The Regional Pricing Director, Metals – EMEA will have: 

The ability to defend and strengthen Platts’ existing benchmarks reputation and expand its profile and footprint within the Metals sector both regionally and globally

Excellent managerial skills and advanced experience covering commodities markets and publishing

Expertise in developing and applying methodologies and ability to serve externally as a subject matter expert

The career opportunity: This is an integral role in a challenging environment, with the Regional Pricing Director, Metals – EMEA expected to work well in collaboration with other senior leaders, as well as exhibit strong individual leadership in delivering essential pricing and market coverage.

The team/business: The successful candidate will assist the Global Content Director, Metals & Agriculture in developing and delivering the vision for Platts Metals sector and will work closely with relevant units across the organization such as Product, Marketing and Sales in implementation.

Your skills: The preferred candidate possesses:

Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, as well as significant experience reporting/writing/analyzing Metals markets and managing teams

Deep knowledge of the global metals markets – physical, exchange-traded and over-the-counter

Strong leadership ability which utilizes influence and promotes collaboration, as well as personal accountability

Advanced understanding of market assessments, price reporting and applying Platts methodologies

Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate across a wide range of groups and personalities, internally and externally

Ability to motivate teams, achieve goals, develop and set strategy and translate ideas into targets and clear action plans

Solid numeracy skills and understanding of economics and risk management principles

Experience identifying efficiencies and implementing LEAN processes that promote greater productivity and quality improvement

Strong critical thinking skills and expertise in problem solving and conflict resolution

Energy, tenacity and ambition to excel in a fast-paced environment, while navigating a complex matrix structure

Proven presentation and decision-making skills and ability to gain buy-in to decisions and ideas, while driving implementation

Keen eye for identifying talent and nurturing development within and across teams to ensure succession plans are actionable, as needed

Multi-lingual skills in relevant languages an advantage
