Resilience Partner VP

Whippany, NJ

Reporting to the Director of BI Resilience, responsibilities include supporting the Barclays International (BI) division across a portfolio of business areas within the Americas region, working within the business to deliver an acceptable Risk position and assisting the BI division to ensure compliance against the Barclays Group Resilience Policy and Standards.

You will maintain, and improve, an efficient and effective, Resilience program.Additionally, you will provide strategic advice to Senior Stakeholders; supporting and guiding the business area to construct and maintain well controlled resilient processes.  

What will you be doing?

•Develop a subject matter expertise in local resilience regulatory requirements to provide strategic direction and resilience guidance to all key stakeholders

•Act as a key point of contact for resilience related matters for the business area supported.

•Ensure resilience is appropriately owned within the business and embedded as part of business planning, management and development.

•Support business areas in identifying and documenting Front-to-Back processes (F2BPs) and help define the requirements that support the F2BP.

•Engage with SME’s to assess any Supplier, Technology or Premises Resilience requirements. 

•Assist the BU to drive the identification and remediation of gaps in Resilience and proactively identify and implement innovative solutions to mitigate Resilience risks.

•Ensure Resilience is represented as necessary on projects / programs where led by other Functions and present the Resilience position and expectations. 

•Timely and accurate provision of Resilience Management Information.

•Act as an ambassador for Resilience within Barclays at RnC forums and others venues

What we’re looking for:

•4 Year college degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting

•4+ years of experience in Financial Services

•3+ years in a Resilience, Continuity or Recovery role

•1+ year experience in project management or business management

Skills that will help you in the role:

•Experience in business resilience and continuity, theoretical and practical, with a strong understanding of these disciplines within the financial services industry.

•Understanding of threats, risks, impacts and associated mitigations as they relate to business resilience within a major banking organization.

•Experience of working in a relationship management, advisory or consultancy role.

•Strong and proven record of operating with / advising colleagues in a large multinational financial organization

•Is adept at root cause analysis and acts to treat the underlying problem strategically whilst implementing short term tactical solutions.

•Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities including presentation and influencing, with the ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organization.

•Maintains high standards of personal integrity, whilst demonstrating respect for other viewpoints.

•Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, facilitation, and communication (both verbal and written) skills, as the expert working knowledge of Resilience and Crisis Management. 

•Ability to work and collaborate with team members, stakeholders and partners across all levels of the organization.

•Ability to establish and form trusting relationships with senior colleagues across the various business areas and sectors.  

•Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, including the flexibility to work successfully with multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines while producing quality results and meeting deliverables.

•Ability to work with multiple teams/workstreams simultaneously and change priorities as needed to meet business needs. 

•Ability to work effectively both independently and with team members, as well as with varying levels of technical and non-technical personnel to achieve appropriate results. 

•Proven competency in use of MS Office applications.
