This position is responsible for overseeing the sales activities in the Food, Mass and Club Channels with the goal of delivering incremental revenue and profit.The position can be based in in the eastern US and work remotely.
For the Food, Mass and Club channels, manage key accounts including Kroger, Publix, Pathmark/Wakefern, BJ’s, Wegman’s, Walgreen’s, CVS, Rite Aid, SE Grocers, Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Giant of Carlisle and Landover, Stop and Shop, Demoulas and others to be decided.
Develop strategic customer business plans to drive sales and profit to meet business initiatives and goals while building customer partnerships
Lead joint business planning meetings
Develop and manage broker infrastructure
Utilize reporting and analytics to inform and guide business decisions with accounts
Achieve revenue growth through new account development and increasing base business through velocity gains, increased distribution, and new item placement
Work across departments within company to ensure all vendor requirements are met
Plan and execute promotional plans
Work with respective account managers and brokers to attend customer meetings, develop and manage ongoing relationships, and execute in-store support
Arrange, prepare, and/or conduct retailer JBP meetings
Develop and manage trade fund accruals and programs, staying within budget and defined profitability parameters
Provide recommendations for pricing strategy within each channel, retailer type
Lead discussions and exploration around retailer initiated product innovation
Work with both customers and internal departments around deduction resolution and payment issues
Develops and stresses the importance of teamwork within company and with customer partners
Requires travel as needed to best support accounts’ needs
Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred with sales experience
Sales experience in the natural products, health food industry preferred.
Sales experience working the Mass and Club channels required
High level of verbal and written communication skills required
Ability to create, analyze, and interpret reports including consumption (Spins/IRI/Nielsen) data and to write business correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information both written and oral both internally and to customers.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, profit margins, commissions, and percentages.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Strong analytical skills a must.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear.
