We are seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with extensive experience working in a complex computing environment to join our Corporate Cloud Infrastructure team. You will work as part of a team that provides operational support for systems, services, and requirements in cloud infrastructure environments. This position is also responsible for communicating to management the operational status of the environments including performance, capacity, availability, failure rates, and other performance metrics. A deep understanding of compute and storage administration is a requirement and specific experience with VMware enterprise products is required. Deploy and manage complex Cloud, compute and storage infrastructure, including hyper- converged, for a Production and R&D cloud environments that require 24/7 accessibility.
Responsibility includes performance analysis, proactive troubleshooting, continual improvement, and capacity planning of production, virtualized environments.
Demonstrate the ability to use problem-solving techniques such as root cause analysis to resolve issues. Providing
Lead innovation and strategic company and organizational initiatives.
Participate in programs to deploy pre-GA products/code in production and provide direct input to product improvement.
Demonstrate the ability to write and present useful materials, including presentations, status reporting update, technical or architectural diagrams and flowcharts.
Participate in architectural discussions, design and implementation of solutions.
Provide technical leadership, support and architectural direction across multiple teams for our next generation products, tools, and services.
Design and implement SOP’s that demonstrate best practices in action.
Provide mentorship of others across the organization and geographies on architecture, design, and best practices; lead by example.
Handle seamless upgrades of infrastructure and services through automation
Identify, gather, analyze and automate responses to key performance metrics, logs, and alerts
Ensure compliance with appropriate security standards
Conduct post-mortems to analyze failures and prevent recurrence
Work collaboratively with cross-functional internal customers to gather requirements and deliver solutions which are highly usable/manageable, resilient, scalable, performant, and secure.
Ability to work in an agile environment and continue to evaluate and improve internal processes.
Provide service support by participating in regular on-call shifts responding to service issues.
10+ years of industry experience with a proven track record of building scalable, multi-tier, enterprise level products or components.
Solid understanding of system architecture, including processors, memory management, storage, and networking.
VMware Certified Profession (VCP) or equivalent working experience
VMware products hands-on experience with ESXi vSphere, vCenter, vRealize Operations, SRM and NSX,
Storage management and infrastructure, VMware vSAN, EMC VNX, EMC Isilon, EMC Unity, and EMC XtremIO, RecoverPoint and Brocade fabric. Knowledge of data storage protocols including CIFS, FC, and NFS.
Excellent presentation, interaction and communication skills; ability to communicate (both written and verbal) clearly and concisely.
Experience with Red Hat, Centos, Ubuntu, and Windows operating systems
Knowledge of DNS (Infoblox), LDAP, NFS, SMTP a plus
Experience with scripting or automation languages (bash/Perl/python/Powercli) is a plus
Knowledge of working with Containers and Kubernetes a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering
