The Digital Shared Services Engagement Leader is responsible for collaborating with Markel’s Shared Services Business Leaders to align business objectives with Digital resources and capabilities within the Digital Organization.The Digital Shared Services Engagement Leader will lead the development of the overall digital strategy and also provide guidance and leadership in supporting the development of new Digital assets to support departments within the Shared Services Organization. These departments include Actuarial, Claims, Finance, Security, Operations and Human Resources.  

The Digital Shared Services Engagement Leader is the Leadership digital conduit, assessing and anticipating digital needs. The Leader will support Shared Services teams in identifying digital opportunities and accessing the appropriate resources within the Digital Organization to meet identified business objectives. The Digital Shared Services Engagement Leader will be responsible for building the departments’ digital roadmaps and support the development of digital integrated solutions from ideation to execution. In addition, the leader will formulate partnerships with various business leaders within the Shared Services departments to coordinate and help deliver value-added digital service that reflect the goals of the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

Understands business objectives and strategic goals to provide guidance and recommendations on potential digital solutions

Serve as a thought leader, diagnose and collaborate on business problems on potential digital solutions and expeditiously connect the business to the right groups/resources within the digital organization

Consult on digital strategies in support of specific business needs and align/ensure consistency with the organization’s digital strategy

Lead opportunities into the digital organization for testing, decisioning, and execution on behalf of Shared Service departments

Establish and enhance digital roadmaps for each Shared Service Department and make recommendations to pivot based on modifications to strategy or market conditions

Serve as the digital expert and resource to the Shared Services Departments with external strategic partners, as requested

Work with the Digital Leadership team to collaborate and negotiate assignment of the digital organizations resources

Empower and support key stakeholder to bring identified ideas or challenges that may have digital solutions to the digital organization

Serve as thought partners and expeditiously connect the business units to the right groups/resources within the digital organization

Raise awareness around existing or emerging capabilities either within the digital organization or digitally aligned parts of the enterprise

Engage to solution opportunities to seek out operational improvement and

Effectively communicate on digital trends, offerings and services

Create awareness on how digital trends are impacting our industry and strategic partners

Facilitate business case development to appropriatelyallocate financial and human resources

Requirements for the role:

Bachelor s degree required; Bachelor’s in Communications, Finance and/or Business preferred

10+ years or more of insurance and/or project/program management experience required

Experience leading and motivating a team

Strong team interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and resolve conflict

Ability and proven track record in developing and executing strategy and roadmaps

Provenproject management, organizational, and analytical skills

Experience managing a budget

Ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously

Experience in the Insurance industry a plus
