The Senior Director – Finance Continuous Process Improvement, Enterprise Finance & Accounting Process CoE is a critical leadership position that oversees the delivery and support for organizational process excellence.This position reports directly to AVP, Finance Process Center of Excellence (CoE) and serves as a partner by engaging with business leaders within the company to anticipate business needs and drive strong decision making through implementation of a continuous improvement strategy, portfolio and process management, business adoption, master data governance, and BlackLine system management.

This position will be responsible for leading all aspects of the centralized Cox Automotive Enterprise Finance & Accounting (EF&A) process management, operational/change readiness, and chart of account/Blackline management functions. Within process management this position will be responsible for leading the Process Leads for Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, and Invoice-to-Pay functions – with a focus on process centralization, standardization, and optimization across data, reporting, systems security, compliance, financial controls, and process excellence.This role will also be responsible for communications oversight, training management, technology branding/integration, and business adoption across the EF&A Centers of Excellence, as well as driving the governance for chart of accounts, and the deployment/adoption of the Blackline reconciliation management solution.

This position will also help to meet Cox Automotive’s strategic goals by developing plans, driving objectives, collaborating with business stakeholders, and aligning appropriate resources. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, continuous process improvement, change management, governance, and communication experience in a global organization, with a track record leading a high performing team and implementing best practices.

Process Excellence:

Direct day-to-day activities of the Process Center of Excellence – including process leads, change management, operational readiness, and chart of accounts/Blackline teams

Identify, govern, prioritize, and adjudicate technology enhancements, partnering with Technology to build and support the deployment of ongoing roadmap of solutions

Lead benchmarking studies and competitive intelligence assessments across EF&A, including ongoing target setting

Build a metrics and performance management strategy and culture, driving measurable business results

Design and embed an approach to ongoing continuous process improvement, including an end-to-end process assessment strategy, as well as tactical resource and implementation planning and delivery approach

Integrate an operational readiness and change management approach across EF&A, to drive business adoption and organizational agility

Accountable for all process standards: data, reporting, systems security, compliance, financial controls, change management and process excellence

Leadership & Organizational Development:

Manage employee hiring, training, and motivation of the department of approximately 20 employees, including utilization of performance management to ensure results and to develop team members for future growth

Develop and implement goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to all aspects of the group, in partnership with EF&A operations.Responsible for tracking and meeting those goals and ensuring adherence to those policies and procedures

Responsible for identifying best practices, efficiencies and strategic methods to optimize people, process, and technology solutions across the EF&A Centers of Excellence

Partner with internal stakeholders to drive governance and business partner relationships, including shared objectives for end-to-end process solutions

Provide oversight of organizational communications to ensure consistency, impactful delivery, and key messaging across EF&A

Work with internal and external auditors annually and/or as needed based on their requests for information

Perform special projects as required


Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance and/or Accounting required;  Advanced Degree and/or CPA preferred.

15+ years of experience required

7+ years of leadership experience

5+ years of accounting or finance experience required

Proven ability to influence and to collaborate at the highest levels of corporate management

Significant experience with continuous improvement and project management – Six Sigma Green Belt and/or PMP a plus

Experience driving organizational change – including large scale transformation initiatives

Proven track record in successfully leading high performing teams with tight deadlines and improving efficiencies

Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer service

Demonstrated financial analysis strength

Experience in managing large-scale, high volume financial systems and multiple finance functions

Experience within a Center of Excellence environment a plus

Global experience in a multinational organization a plus

Excellent oral and written communication is mandatory

Strong leadership and people management skills including demonstrated ability to coach and mentor employees

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Excellent organizational and analytical skills

Strong knowledge of GAAP

Ability to work effectively under pressure, and shift priorities quickly as required and rapidly adapt to changing environments

Ability to understand business strategy and translate into effective tactical plans

Excellent problem solving and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail

Proven ability to work with minimal direction, as well as be resourceful and independent in solving problems

Strong computer skills and proficient use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Strong knowledge of Oracle Financials

Proven ability to work with all levels in the organization
