The Senior Director, Product Management, is responsible for building business cases and go to market strategy and managing discrete units (specific project, release or an overall product/platform depending upon size and scope) and project teams to achieve the following:

Manage a product portfolio

Own the customer offering from enablement to execution (end-to-end PLM)

In this role, you will work cross-functionally with other departments including marketing, product, sales, IT, as well as externally with customers/prospects, outsource providers, consultants and industry organizations.You’ll correct client problems relating to product and operations, make recommendations to improve existing product (voice of customer and product development), create new product strategy (business model and product development), participate in new business development (business model and product integration), and provide sales support (training and client demos) and marketing support.

Managing the overall product portfolio, you will:

Assess market position

Identify and translate key market/customer needs into offerings

Utilize customer and market input to develop new product opportunities, overall product roadmap, and

Portfolio analysis and allocation

Create and seek approval on strategic plan

Optimize investments/spend against priority actions (e.g., maintenance, new development)

Make program commitment

Work with team to develop go-to-market plan

Conduct channel readiness

Establish pricing to market

You will also own the customer offering from enablement to execution (end-to-end PLM):

Define market requirements to ensure seamless hand-off to Product Development

Manage market value proposition to product life-cycle management (PLM) to product delivery processes

Conduct sales, operational and channel readiness

Manage product positioning activities such as scope, buyer persona, packaging, etc.

Create initial business case (including pricing/margin/volume)

Partner with functional departments to ensure understanding/commitment

Identify and recruit internal/external talents to ensure effective mix of competencies

Induct new joiners to quickly maximize performance

Set and communicate team/individual objectives and KPIs to inspire individuals to achieve high performance

Allocate work load to fully utilize every employee’s talent

Implement development plans and coach individuals to reach their maximum talent

Provide regular constructive feedback on performance/development and address poor/mediocre performance on a timely manner

Recognize high performers to maintain motivation and retain key talent

Regularly communicate on company news and team progress against business plan

Who are you?

Possess Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant program of study is required

Relevant post graduate qualifications and professional memberships will be preferred – Pragmatic Marketing certification a plus

Proactively maintain awareness of development methodology and standards to improve project, product or process quality

10+ years of product management experience in healthcare

Confidence to state own views clearly without damaging relationships

Knowledge of processes, needs and requirements and how they are/would be best met with MDLIVE products or new technology

Understand the end-to-end process, from bid process to closure, of selling MDLIVE products and services and the factors that influence success including, relationships, risks and costs.

Skilled at defining and asking key questions that help clients to discover their needs; at building trust by communicating effectively with clients about status and issues; at developing and presenting convincing recommendations that address key client objectives; at setting appropriate expectations with clients and managing them throughout the project life cycle

Capacity to anticipate customers’ needs and place customers at the center of own thinking and actions

Ability to prepare financial plans such as budgets including forecasting and designing and implementing the tracking methods

Ability to put changes quickly into practice and treat change as a learning opportunity

Ability to gain agreement to plans and ideas by promoting and focusing on common goals and win-win results

Knowing MDLIVE’s line of products and services offerings; how they differentiate from those of competitors and the benefits to customers

Present a well prepared and reasoned case, tailored to take into consideration others’ perspectives; modifies a proposition

Effectively define own work into tasks, prioritizes tasks, deals with conflicting work issues, sets deadlines and monitors own progress against plan

Effectively present information in a manner that is clear, fluent, and to the point; demonstrate ability to adapt communication to different audiences and engage the audience

Understand needs and expectations, evaluate information, use experience in forming opinions, evaluate the benefits of alternative solutions and their impact to determine the most appropriate course of actions to achieve goals

Ability to define project requirements, scoping of project, planning activities, risk and issue management; manages resources allocated, measures project progress, determine corrective actions to ensure successful project implementation

Address resource planning, cost estimating, cost budgeting, and cost control while also focusing on range estimates, capital budgeting, cumulative cost curves, and earned value analysis

Ensure the various elements of the project are properly coordinated by focusing on plan development, execution and overall change control and making trade-offs among competing objectives and alternatives to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the stakeholder

Identify risks of negative outcomes, measures impact, recognizes when to escalate risk and minimize risk through corrective action.

Ability to see the bigger picture and have a long-term vision

Ability to translate ideas, thoughts, feelings into speech that is appropriate and understood by the audience; is professional and courteous

Ability to manage own behavior and control emotions, think clearly and remain positive when faced with negative responses, actions or difficult situations

Ability to create written materials with objectivity, conciseness and clarity and medium of communication tailored for delivery and targeted audience which may apply to a variety of mediums, e.g. report writing, business planning, policy writing, etc.

Ability to travel up to 50%
