Job summary

Red Hat's Application Services Business team is looking for a Senior Director of product marketing. In this role, you will shape and promote the value of application services, runtimes, and middleware. You will guide strategy for messaging, carry out business plans, and develop forward-looking strategies for our offerings. You’ll work closely with product managers and marketers and field marketing teams to develop and deliver unified marketing messaging and programs. As a Senior Director, you will collaborate with customers, sales representatives, solutions architects, and consultants to understand requirements and tune messaging and marketing materials. You will track and manage the effectiveness of marketing business-growing activities, including leads, pipeline, and adoption. Westford or Boston, MA or Raleigh, NC are preferred locations for this role.

Primary job responsibilities

Develop positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies for application services, application runtimes, and middleware that align with and tie into the strategies of the rest of the Red Hat portfolio

Conduct market research and identify market opportunities for specified segments of offerings

Collaborate with product managers and product marketers on pricing and packaging, roadmaps and, thought leadership initiatives

Maintain the financial and operational aspects of the business team, including tracking marketing leads, defining success metrics, analyzing outcomes, managing budget and discretionary spend, etc.

Strategically represent the Application Services team across other Red Hat’s business units and functions in order to promote the value, benefits, and potential of the services, including how they compliment or can be integrated with other Red Hat’s solutions

Work closely with adjacent business and marketing teams to create coordinated programs and messaging to support the overall Red Hat’s solutions portfolio

Create marketing and sales enablement assets like web copy, datasheets, demos, blogs, trainings, etc., to direct awareness and adoption of Red Hat’s middleware, application runtime, and services offerings

Coordinate the business team’s presence on Red Hat’s digital properties

Carry out marketing, sales, and partner enablement activities like launches of our offerings, webinars, conference sessions, and training; this includes speaking to technical audiences

Coordinate marketing support for open source communities that underpin our technologies and offerings

Serve as an evangelist both internally and externally to guide overall success of Red Hat’s Application Services offerings

Required skills

10+ years of experience working in directing product marketing or product management with an enterprise software vendor

Experience with enterprise application development technologies

Experience with open source and subscription models is a big plus

Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills

Solid business background; MBA is a plus

Solid technical background; Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering is a plus
