As the Senior Director, Project Management office will be responsible for the program management of all Flash-based product development at Western Digital. You will manage a worldwide group of product line core team leaders and engineering program managers. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implement, refine, and administer the product life cycle (PLC) process for product development, which include gathering product requirements, schedule development, resource allocation, risk assessment and mitigation plans, and ensuring cross-functional reviews at key development stages.

Ensure that all product development teams are following uniform processes for product requirements specification and product change requests.

Review and approve product development plans and schedules.

Participate actively in product roadmap discussions and

Track product development spend against plan on a monthly basis for all Flash-based products.

Publish product development metrics (e.g. $/KLOC) for all Flash-based products.

Set priorities for material and resource allocation across all product development teams.

Approve risk purchases and builds. 

Manage quality excursions, operational issues, and critical customer situations.

Track product costs against forecast after products have gone into volume production.

Other responsibilities will include running cross functional meetings with internal teams, managing operational aspects of program development, and coordinating with product management teams.

REQUIRED:

Engineering degree with 15+ years of work experience in a related field.

Working knowledge on non-volatile storage technologies such as Flash is a big plus.

Expertise in FW development, ASIC design or systems engineering is highly desirable.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
