The CMT’s Digital & Social team is responsible for developing and executing a robust content strategy across platforms. Rooted in Nashville, this team supports linear shows, events, and country music coverage across video, social and editorial. The creator-first group works in close collaboration with partners in the broader CMT organization, supporting initiatives across Marketing, Talent, Production, Integrated Marketing, and more.

The Senior Director of Digital & Social at CMT will focus in on the creative strategy and development of CMT’s social and digital footprint, leading a team rooted in Nashville. He or she reports to the VP of Digital Marketing, and will be charged with developing and executing multiplatform concepts around linear priorities, events, and broader country music coverage. They will work across teams to develop collaborate on sponsorship and promotional opportunities, and innovate around new executions for the brand and its events. The Sr. Director will have a proven track record in social media and editorial, which will help shape not only innovation for the brand, but also delivery and promotion. The ideal candidate should be exceptionally organized, experienced in creating content and product solutions across platforms, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Lead planning and oversee execution of CMT’s digital and social strategy across platforms

Pitch and develop creative for cross platform social campaigns in service of original digital content and linear priorities

Work with talent and development teams to create a robust schedule of music coverage

Manage department budget; ensuring effective and economical allocation per project

Prioritize objectives, forecast results for each campaign

Present social media marketing best practices to senior management and other divisions of organization

Collaborate across departments - promos, graphics, CRM, creative, PR and consumer marketing departments - to ensure cohesive 360 strategy

Collaborate with Ad Sales to monitor requests and deliver/promote custom content

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor degree required

6-8 years of content development and marketing experience – Social Media & Digital

Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills

Excellent understanding of SEO, SEM, social media and email marketing best practices

Strategic thinker with strong project management skills to accomplish objectives on time and on budget

Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and perform under pressure

Must be extremely detail-oriented

Proficient in MS-Office skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Additional Qualifications

Strong knowledge of CMT's Brand and Country Music
