In this role, the successful candidate As a Manager, you will be responsible for the successful planning and execution of multiple projects within the constraints or scope, quality, time and cost to deliver specified requirements and achieve stakeholder satisfaction at NYU Langone Medical Center. Essential to your success, will be your ability to manage project dependencies and stakeholder relationships as it relates to the project and ensure timely and effective communication with the project team and with the project stakeholders. You will also be responsible to guarantee projects are completed within committed time and budget and are integrated with other business and related projects. You will work under general direction.


Job Responsibilities:


Carries out major assignments in conducting the operations of his or her project including being involved in relevant planning long- or short-term business objectives. Develops applicable process and outcome metrics to measure project success.

Exercises discretion and independent judgment in comparing and evaluating options and approaches to analyses or project management, including possible courses of conduct, and acting or making a decision after the various possibilities have been considered.

Synthesizes complex information to communicate project deliverables and recommendations to senior management. Provides consultation or expert advice to senior management on his or her projects.

Formulates, interprets, and implements management policies or operating practices on his or her assigned projects.

Promotes departmental ideas and engages in departmental activities.

Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.

Relates well to all kinds of people at all levels both inside and outside the organization.

Knows how to get things done both through formal channels and informal networks..

Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

Ability to mentor junior staff members

Must possess strong analytical skills as each member pulls their own data.

Reviews project assessments and prepares initial project costs; tracks actual costs during the life of a project.

Schedules and facilitates project meetings, tracks impact and issue documents.

Effectively communicates and develops a professional level of cooperation across the organization.

Directs the development of implementation plans; coordinates the completion of efforts and resources. Directs and monitors resources; ensures completion of schedules.

Completes status reports and presents deliverables for project milestones to senior management.

Provides input to senior management/managers during project and recognizes technical, business and operational impacts of a project. Brings issues to resolution and escalates issues or concerns to the Project Sponsor and key constituents.

Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties.

Management of projects, including development and maintenance of project plans, leading and facilitating work teams, moderate analysis, understanding the issues surrounding a project, and communication and synthesis of ideas.

Ensures adherence to all current project methodology standards and procedures, including all documentation requirements. Reviews business requirements and may assist in translating requirements. May provide analytical support to other team members and internal client groups in defining requirements.


Minimum Qualifications:


To qualify you must have a Masters Degree in Health Administration, Masters Degree in Business Administration or related field, as well as a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management working in a Business Development, Consulting capacity. Complete understanding of a project life cycle methodology. Requires strong judgment and excellent project management skills. Qualified candidates must have the ability to proficiently use project management, word processing and spreadsheet applications. Effective problem solving skills to assist in detecting potential issues and issue resolution. Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present to the target audience. Ability to exercise discretion, good independent judgment, and independent thinking in selecting the optimal course of action.


Preferred Qualifications:


Action-oriented, with experience managing aggressive deadlines and strength across a broad range of technical skills.

High-level of proficiency in Tableau, Visio, Access, and Decision Support reporting programs.

1-2 years of experience formally or informally managing people and projects.


Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
