The Senior Manager, is responsible for supporting the Managing Director, First Line Risk Management Office – Enablement (MD) to put in place outstanding 1RMO risk management capabilities. The Senior Manager will assist in executing the right work in partnership with business units and other risk management units to contribute to the organization. This role is an integral part of the team that plans, coordinates and executes the enablement functions of a wide array of 1RMO initiatives to ensure that business units are appropriately prepared for their risk management responsibilities. This position will also assist in supporting the enablement needs of the 1RMO organization.
The Senior Manager will possess a focused, consistent and strategic approach to enablement, engaging appropriate partners, and using strong partnerships in order to drive the most effective results possible. This position will also work closely with business partners, such as Corporate Communications, Human Resources, and Enterprise Learning to ensure enablement plans are detailed and timed appropriately given other projects and initiatives. This role requires coordination and collaboration to work with multiple areas of Schwab to seamlessly affect change to our business unit partners.
You should have experience in developing and executing enablement plans, change management, communications and training that support leadership in driving desired outcomes.
As this is a new and developing organization, roles and responsibilities will evolve as well.
What you have
Minimum 7 years work experience specific in communications, project management roles, preferably in a financial services environment
Strong understanding of operating within a regulatory environment
Ability to assist in developing and executing enablement strategies that drive awareness
Experience with developing and leading all aspects of a Program Office designed to collate and coordinate initiatives
Demonstrated advanced SharePoint site creation and management experience
Highly organized, skilled in process development and an intense dislike for inefficiency
Flourishes with building and encouraging authentic relationships inside and outside the group in an effort to understand needs, wants and opportunities
Appreciation for the importance of continuous improvement and a shown ability to prioritize these concepts in strategy, approach and work ethic
Ability to see the big picture and build/advocate solutions rooted in common sense
Confidence, maturity and business savvy required to effectively facilitate dialogue and decision making among business partners as well as influence, engage and build consensus with a variety of partners
Proven experience managing projects, such as organizational initiatives, and consistently managing both quality and timeliness of deliverables
Demonstrated experience in process mapping, procedure construction, plan of supervision development, and/or document repository solutions
Ability to lead change; demonstrated success with effective change management
Positive relationship building & partnership skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organization skills required to prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities
Advanced PowerPoint, Excel, Word skills, SharePoint site creation and management, Procedure writing and process mapping and adoption for the intended audiences
Some understanding of the various Schwab business units, with direct experience preferred
