Job Summary: 

The Senior Manager, GTS Business Relationships will lead a team of Business Relationship Managers to work as the strategic interface with assigned areas of the Institute for the purpose of business-IT strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management. The BRM team serves as the relationship linkage between the Institute and GTS. Leads a team to provide highly-valued strategic consulting level support and guidance throughout key GTS initiatives. The team facilitates and serves as a lead for the planning and execution of initiatives to enable the Institute to achieve objectives through the effective use of technology. They also communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding service requests, projects and initiatives.

Essential Duties:

Advocate on behalf of business stakeholders to ensure GTS services meet their business priorities and needs.

Serve as a “trusted advisor,” and function as a key point of contact for GTS business stakeholders.

Represent GTS to the Institute by promoting GTS’s vision, value, services, and capabilities.

Relentlessly drive for continual complex business improvements and deliver results that exceed quality expectations.

Leads the creation of a strategic analysis document, including: 

Overview of what’s happening in the market – benchmarking, competitive analysis, and relative and transformational technology trends.

Internal and External capabilities supported by GTS.

Evaluation of project, technology, and resource constraints.

High level plan for the year.

Defining KPIs and other measurable goals for their capabilities.

Visionary roadmap, showing the future state of the capabilities.

Business & Technology roadmaps, setting expectations business and technology delivery by quarter.

Prioritization matrix, establishing clear priorities for each business capability.

Business Relationship Manager leads and/or will be responsible for ongoing communication of the roadmap and performance against it via:

Published up-to-date service/capability release calendars.

Capability and training blogs related to their roadmaps.

Service Metrics for the related Business Unit.

Quarterly executive updates.

Expected to maintain relevant external research of business process and technology options/alternatives.

Manage roadmap expectations aligned with resource capacity and utilization in order to forecast needs according to business priorities while balancing the area’s operational health.

Leads collaborative review of solutions and roadmap ideas with adherence to the architecture standards and the solution delivery team standards.

Expected to deliver solutions that deliver business value and minimizes the organization complexity.

Lead strategic business initiatives across the institute by enhancing and evolving the technology environment.

Ensure proper controls and participate in audits to ensure compliance with RTI and regulatory policies.

Deliver high quality presentations illustrating active ownership for delivery, performance, and innovation from GTS service areas.

Minimum Required Experience:

Bachelor's Degree and 12-15 years of experience, Master's degree and 10-12 years of experience, PhD and 8 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum 6 years experience in a Senior Business Relationship Management role or related position.

Prior experience supervising and leading a team to manage technology relationships with core business units.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in multi-channel environments (eCommerce, Consulting, Government) preferred.

Experience with modern technology Architectures, Software, and systems a plus.

Mastery working with Business Roadmaps, CMMI planning, and best practices preferred.

Solid knowledge of customer facing BU technologies and cloud landscape preferred.

Skills and Experience:

Proven ability to work closely with others on intangible issues across organizational and business-entity boundaries.

Assertiveness to share knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Institute.

Serve as a “trusted advisor,” and function as a key point of contact for GTS business stakeholders.

Represent GTS to the Institute by promoting GTS’s vision, value, services, and capabilities.
