The Senior Pricing Systems Analyst will be a pivotal member of the Pricing and Value team, creating pricing models, running complex financial analyses, and managing the data and reporting needs of the team. They will support a wide variety of Firm offices and practices, and will become knowledgeable about a wide variety of legal services, and their pricing implications.


This Senior Pricing Systems Analyst will be focused on building, iterating, and utilizing sophisticated pricing models to support partner pricing requests, Requests for Proposal, profitability analyses, and other Pricing team projects and initiatives. The Senior Pricing Systems Analyst will work closely with the Global Head of Pricing and Value, and the team’s Managers of Pricing and Value, to amplify current models with an eye toward a more dynamic output befitting of a wide array of partner and client pricing requests.  


The Pricing and Value team is the Firm’s centralized task force to support partners with the full spectrum of pricing needs, including the increasing trend of alternative fee arrangements. The Pricing and Value team consists of subject matter experts with the objective of increasing Firm revenue and profitability by way of supporting partners through the full pricing lifecycle, from proposal development and internal approvals, to client submissions and negotiations. 


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Maintain and enhance proprietary financial model

  • Identify opportunities for automation and passive data capture through integration with existing processes and systems

  • Champion improvements to current suite of pricing tools including creation of dynamic pre-formatted Excel and Word templates

  • Develop a deep understanding of the interoperability of all Firm systems

  • Diagnose process inefficiencies and identify potential technology-based solution

  • Memorialize various Pricing team tools & integrations in a data dictionary

  • Support vendor relationship management, implementation of new technologies and data cleanup efforts & mapping exercises

  • Assist in the production of sophisticated financial analyses using both established and new, creative approaches

  • Prepare robust models and templates to support analysis of a wide array of fee proposals utilizing Firm financial metrics

  • Run profitability analyses to help Department Chairs and the New Business Committee to fully evaluate fee proposals and make appropriate business decisions for the Firm

  • Run sensitivity analyses to help partners and the New Business Committee understand potential impacts of a change in assumptions

  • Assist in the development and implementation of new pricing services and tracking mechanisms to generate new business and manage the success of existing arrangements

  • Generate strategic staffing solutions based on different alternative fee arrangements in partnership with the Global Head of Pricing and Value

  • Communicate with Pricing, Legal Project Management, Client Operations, and Business Development to discuss pricing strategies, brainstorm creative fee proposals, and optimize efficiencies

  • Contribute to the creation and automation of matter budgets, and support matter management initiatives in collaboration with the Legal Project Management team.

  • Develop a strong understanding of the Firm’s departments, practice groups, and clients to help develop strategic planning and pricing initiatives


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree required. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics strongly preferred

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant financial analysis experience. Previous pricing or legal industry experience highly desired

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Robust technical skills, including sophisticated Excel skills (including use of vertical and horizontal lookups, macros, pivot tables and modeling) and a high level of proficiency in Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint required.Experience in using data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) desired

  • Deep experience with SQL and VBA

  • Set priorities and manage multiple assignments simultaneously

  • Identify and analyze multi-faceted problems and recommend solutions

  • Team player with capacity to work collaboratively with a diverse team and build relationships across the Firm

  • Familiarity with Aderant preferred

  • Ability to protect and maintain confidential and sensitive information

  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule according to workload demands
