Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Engineer Mission Assurance 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
This high-level Subcontracts Mission Excellence Manager (SMEM) must have the ability to manage a large Subcontract with all associated Program Mission Assurance management responsibilities as well as manage a large number of small to medium sized subcontractors. The ideal candidate must also have a broad Mission Assurance / Quality Assurance experience and a thorough understanding of one or more Mission Assurance disciplines: Manufacturing Quality, Parts Materials & Processes, Reliability, or Program Mission Assurance.The appropriate candidate will have Management or Supervision expertise and Manufacturing, Integration & Test and Subcontracts experience.
Documentation, review and approvals of nonconformance’s, Failure Review Board and Material Review Board activities, including root cause and corrective action verification
Design reviews – PDR, CDR
Manufacturing Readiness Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Pre-Ship Readiness Reviews
Hardware safety assurance and test troubleshooting activities
Performing compliance audits of Subcontractors Quality Systems for deficiency identification and correction, as well as ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements
A SMEM, viewed as an expert within the field, must be able to verify Mission Assurance requirements, determine Subcontracts Mission Assurance resource needs, provide authorization to proceed as appropriate, and understand the Subcontracts Mission Assurance system well enough to be able to determine acceptable Subcontractor Mission Assurance system implementation.This position requires interaction with all levels of employees including: NGAS Program Mission Assurance Managers, Program Subcontract Managers/Acquisition Managers, Integrated Project Team leads, and representatives from Reliability, PM&P, Configuration Management, System Safety, and Software Quality.Interface is also required with Customer representatives, and the following Subcontractor representatives: Program Managers, Mission Assurance Managers, Responsible Design Engineers and Integrated Project Team leads.
Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) field
9 years of experience in Mission Assurance/Quality Assurance OR 7 years with a Master's degree
Demonstrated understanding of one or more Mission Assurance disciplines: Manufacturing Quality, Parts Materials & Processes, Reliability, or Program Mission Assurance
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
Certification in lean and six sigma Quality Engineering Methodologies
Strong communication skills are required
Proven ability to manage large subcontractors with Mission Assurance/Quality Assurance as well as a number of small to medium sized subcontractors
Management or Supervision expertise and Manufacturing, Integration & Test and Subcontracts experience
Current and active DoD security clearance
