Under the direction of theExecutive Directorand consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Senior Program Director is responsible for the management and the success of Sports, Before/Afterschool care, Day Camps, Special Events, Kids Night out and other Youth development or Family Services programs for the branch. This position serves as a member of the Branch Leadership Team that is responsible for the overall goals of the branch.


Qualifications

Four-year college degree or a minimum of five years of successful management experience with a high level of customer relationship knowledge.

Minimum of three years’ experience managing school-aged childcare and day camp programs, and sports.

Highly developed organizational skills.

Experienced in and passionate about creating and fostering communities and relationship building through programs.

Demonstrated personal leadership and a commitment to developing, inspiring and motivating a staff team.

Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills in creating and sustaining a multitude of trusting relationships with members, volunteers, community partnerships and staff.

Proven ability to demonstrate initiative, sound judgment and independent decision making.

Possess a high level of organization, ability to prioritize and possess the capacity to respond and handle multiple tasks appropriately in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment

Requires a positive attitude, high level of initiative and professionalism, and enjoy working in and creating a strong team environment.

Demonstrate initiative, effectively prioritize, and possess strong organizational, analytical and project management skills.

Essential Functions

Manage and oversee the day camp, before and after school care, sports, and all other related staff.

Provide positive leadership to all staff who report directly or indirectly.

Understand and consistently disseminate Association and branch policies/procedures.

Weekend/Holiday duty as required by programs.

Participate in Full-Time staff activities.

Special event participation.

Program Operations

Manage staff and volunteer development process for programs including all requirements related to safety and quality

Develop and manage the annual budget for assigned areas within approved budget parameters.

Oversee the development and implementation of all programs related to family services (i.e. day camp/school-age care, sports, and youth programming).

Foster and cultivate appropriate relationships with kindred organizations, community leaders and appropriate community groups in order to properly represent the YMCA and its mission.

Responsible for the marketing plans for all areas of responsibility.

Supervise the on-going scheduling, use, maintenance and cleanliness of responsible areas as well as the control, use an inventory of all departmental equipment.

Maintain adequate records to evaluate, control, and measure the effectiveness of the assigned areas of responsibility.

Supervise and assist in maintaining on-going processes associated with program participant registration, cancellation and waitlists.

Maintain Child Care license by following and enforcing all State requirements, and safety guidelines.

Maintain accuracy in the process for setting up programs in Daxko.

Partner with the property manager concerning all housekeeping services, equipment/facility repair and grounds upkeep related to areas of responsibility.

Carry out special projects as assigned.

Required Certifications

Certifications: CPR, AED or BLS, and Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen.

Multi Team Certification Preferred

Prior to the first 30-days of employment, attain CPR, 1st Aid, Oxygen Administration, and AED Certification and Child Abuse Prevention.

Within the first 60-days of employment, complete essential YMCA of the USA Training in the following order:

Orientation to the YMCA of Northwest Florida

Foundations of Listen First

HIPPA Privacy and Security

Attain Child Care Director Credentials within the time period required by the Florida Department of Children and Families.
