Honeywell's Corporate Remediation and Redevelopment group is part of the Corporate Health, Safety, Environment, Sustainability, and Product Stewardship department. Senior Remediation Managers oversee multimillion dollar remediation portfolios that contain some of the company’s most challenging and complex legacy sites. They develop strategic plans that describe how we will integrate protective remedies to meet regulatory obligations, incorporate community input, and support redevelopment, as appropriate.


Develop, implement, and continuously improve site strategies for the designated remediation portfolio.

Represent Honeywell with Regulatory Agencies Property Owners, Government Officials, the Community, and other stakeholders who have an interest in our projects.

Develop strong relationships with the stakeholders in the given geographic areas of site by actively participating in community events, outreach activities, and governmental meetings.

Develop understanding of the drivers for these groups and how to proactively react to these drivers with strategic initiatives.

Provide leadership and management of contractor resources to achieve the tactical and logistical goals of projects.

Identify key issues impacting sites (technical, regulatory, risk, land use, etc) and emerging issues with potential to affect the site's financial and/or political status.

Evaluate and react to significant issues and formulate approaches to mitigate such issues, working in conjunction with legal resources, Honeywell leadership, and other company stakeholders.

Work closely with Legal, Government Relations, and Communications to develop consensus on approaches to strategic issues and the means to implement them.

Manage financial aspects of projects consistent with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and financial targets. Establish budgets for projects and control spending in accordance with group and site-specific targets.

Partner with designated contractor firms to execute projects and administer the site strategic and project plans. Measure performance of contractors on projects based on established expectations and metrics.

Participate on teams to develop standardized tools and processes within the department and then champion their use.

Utilize technical experts to add value and identify opportunities in site/portfolio strategy and/or implementation.

Remain accountable for personal safety performance as well as the safety performance of contractor teams in accordance with the Honeywell Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum 10 years HSE experience, with 5 of those years in the remediation area

Minimum 3 years Project Management experience

Minimum 3 years Contractor/Vendor Management experience

Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, geology or related discipline required.

Additional Qualifications

Able to write and speak in a professional, articulate, and convincing manner. Has the confidence and ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to think strategically and critically analyze details. Able to think on multiple levels while gathering, analyzing and synthesizing all relevant data and then make sound recommendations.

Positive attitude and flexible leadership style. Ability to build relationships, motivate others, and provide strong leadership of teams to drive results. Able to work constructively and collaboratively with internal customers, colleagues, and key stakeholders internal and external to Honeywell.

Proven ability to meet commitments. Able to complete individual and/or team tasks and effectively delegate where necessary.

Ability to negotiate effectively with regulatory agencies and other third parties. Capacity to balance short-and long-term benefits and drawbacks.

Six sigma greenbelt preferred.

Advanced degree preferred.

Proficient with Microsoft Project, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
