The Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer has system-wide accountability for enterprise risk, to include corporate and clinical, and management of third-party risk. The CRO will have a forward-thinking approach to anticipate and identify trends and to establish and execute plans to mitigate or eliminate actual or potential risk, in consultation with system leaders. The CRO directly manages the risk, audit, compliance and privacy areas across the organization. 


Job Relationships: Reports to and receives assignments from EVP, Chief Administrative Officer

Qualifications


• Education: Undergraduate Degree, required. Advanced Degree, preferred.


• Experience: 10 Years of experience in Risk, Compliance, Privacy, required.


• Licensure/Certification: CRO-C, preferred.

• Operational Excellence: Exceptional operations management with strong attention to project deadlines and details; broad-based experience in directing diverse operations to ensure organizational growth and advancement.  


• Communication: Ability to distill complex topics into crisp and concise narratives that can be consumed by audiences with varying degrees of familiarity with the subject matter.  


• Digital Fluency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, specifically Power Point, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities


• Essential Functions:

• Holds staff accountable for customer service standards and ensures service recovery when needed. Ensures staff responds to customers in a timely manner.


• Provides ongoing informal and formal feedback to direct reports consistent with organizational policies and procedures. Coaches staff in developing plans to achieve career goals.


• Supports growth, development of initiatives, and overall performance of strategy. Demonstrates dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of stakeholders.


• Creates and executes practical, scalable, and operational tasks.Works closely with team members to monitor and evolve practices for continuous process improvement. 


• Assures local, regional, market and corporate processes and standards align with care, patient safety and clinical policies, procedures, and standards.


• Protects assets of the organization by controlling and minimizing losses through risk mitigation activities.


• Maintains relationships with staff, management, senior leadership, and executive leaders to monitor, assess and mitigate on going risk to the organization and assures appropriate responses to emergent risks in all Novant Health facilities as indicated.
