The Signet Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller will report directly to the Signet Chief Financial Officer and will oversee the SEC reporting functions of the organization and be accountable for the accounting operations of Signet Jewelers and its global subsidiaries. This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. In addition, the Chief Accounting Officer/Controller will be responsible for managing Signet’s annual budget and forecasting process.
Manage the preparation and review of the Form 10-Qs, Form 10-K filings, Proxy and 8Ks associated with financial filings including all supporting financial schedules.
Provides Signet CFO and Investor Relations with all appropriate financial information required in analysis and interpretation of Signet’s financial performance.
Responsible for the evaluation of all significant accounting transactions, research and implementation of relevant accounting technical standards, and preparation of technical accounting memos supporting all accounting positions.
Preparation of Signet monthly financial statements and analysis for circulation to the Board of Directors and quarterly filing packages to the Audit Committee, including Audit Committee interaction.
Oversight and management of accounting policies across all Signet divisions.
Coordination of Signet’s quarterly audit review and annual external audit process.
Review the Subsidiary statutory accounts, ensuring they are in compliance with all current GAAP and legislative requirements managing Signet’s budget and long term planning process and forecast updates.
Coordinates the planning cycles across Signet operating groups.
Management of Signet’s capital expenditure process.
Set priorities and goals for department, perform staff performance evaluations, and provide training to staff.
Review of the corporate and divisional management accounts.
Supports the development of best practices within each of Signet’s finance departments.
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the finance staff in Signet’s divisions.
Develop processes and business partner relationships with internal and external groups that will improve the flow of financial information within the company.
Consistent regular scheduled attendance is considered an essential function of this job.

Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting/Finance required from an accredited University/College.
MBA in Finance/Accounting preferred.
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
10+ years in a Finance Senior Leadership position.
10+ years Financial Systems and SEC reporting.
Must have experience in public accounting and strong SEC reporting.
SAP implementation experience preferred.
Previous experience in public accounting and retail companies required.
Experience in drafting audited financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash flows along with all required footnotes).
Effective communication (both verbal and written), negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to determine and set priorities.
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills when solving critical problems and accomplishing objectives.
Ability to be influential and establish positive working relationships across the organization
