Bell has an immediate need for an experienced Software Architect to join the Advanced Vertical Lift Systems team in Fort Worth, TX.This Architect will establish the solution architecture to achieve digital objectives for our Future Vertical Lift platforms. These objectives will involve aspects of every phase of the aircraft lifecycle including design, manufacturing, and sustainment to establish the Digital Thread and Digital Twin for our fleet.Our Open-Architecture Digital Backbone offers effective on-demand integrations of new mission system equipment, paving the way for reliable, quick and cost-effective technology adaptability.


As a Software Architect on this team, you are an expert-level software developer who leads development of a solution architecture to break down and organize development of large projects. Through coordination with customers and stakeholders to clarify their requirements the architect will break down requirements into smaller solvable problems, make executive design decisions, and establish a solution architecture. To be successful as a Software Architect, you should be an expert problem solver, an effective communicator, and hold a strong understanding of the broad range of software technologies, design patterns, and software development principles. You are comfortable defining cloud architectures from the ground up.  


Position Responsibilities:



  • Develop solution architectures including overview, system, data flow, and process architectures

  • Research, evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and best practices for software projects

  • Decompose high level requirements into smaller solve-able problems

  • Communicate requirements to distributed development teams

  • Produce high level product specifications and design documents

  • Guide the development team through implementation and testing

  • Work within Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment leveraging SysML and Cameo systems modeler  


Education Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree required, Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred


Position Requirements:



  • At least 10 years Software Development experience

  • 8+ Years Software Architecture experience

  • .Net and C# experience 

  • Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) on Microsoft Azure required

  • Experience developing and delivering Client/Desktop Application software required

  • Experience with Containerization (such as Docker or Kubernetes) and Kafka, and MicroServices required

  • Experience with agile delivery methodologies and use of DevSecOps delivery infrastructure required

  • Understanding of design patterns and software development principles

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation abilities

  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain Secret Security Clearance


Preferred Skills and Experience: 


Military sustainment experience
