Proskauer is seeking a Sourcing and Procurement Specialist for a globally focused team to assist the Sourcing and Procurement group with growing and leading the Firm’s strategic sourcing, contract management, and procurement operations. The Sourcing and Procurement Specialist will report to the Associate Director of Sourcing and Procurement.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 



  • Deliver value to the Firm through achieving significant and demonstrable cost improvement, minimizing risk, and optimizing Firm resources

  • Work with the Associate Director of Procurement to establish, implement, and communicate formal sourcing and procurement policies, processes and systems throughout the purchasing life-cycle

  • Take the lead in analyzing spend activity and identifying opportunities to aggregate demand, standardize, and minimize costs

  • Perform industry research as it relates to suppliers, competitors, commodities, markets and industry verticals

  • Initiate and lead efforts to source a diverse range of products and services  

  • Develop and optimize sourcing approach in a diverse range of commodities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contractual language and standardize terms to mitigate contractual risks in conjunction with Firm attorneys

  • Efficiently deploy competitive sourcing strategies by collaborating with subject matter experts, performing business analysis, developing requirements, and drafting bid documentation

  • Help with the development, implementation, and improvement of systems to support the contract lifecycle management policies and process to effectively identify contractual risks

  • Implement and apply robust supplier management policies and governance including appraisal, assessment, on-boarding, risk and performance monitoring, policy compliance, communication and creating optimized supplier affinities

  • Negotiate agreements with suppliers that achieve the optimal combination of service, cost, quality, and risk mitigation

  • Stay abreast of and contribute to sourcing and procurement’s professional trends and functional innovation

  • Lead and organize activity tracking, project management, and KPI’s to capture and communicate department success


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field required

  • Recognized Procurement certification in CIPS, ISM or other professional purchasing organization a plus

  • 3-5 years or more of purchasing experience 

  • Existing knowledge of general indirect procurement commodities, including operations, facilities, services and other non-technology related areas

  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem solving skills

  • Proficient in analytical programs and MS Excel

  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills

  • Solid project management and project leadership capabilities

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Establish effective working relationships with management and employees

  • Knowledge of contracting law, Uniform Commercial Code, and other laws and regulations pertaining to the solicitation and award of contracts

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate as an effective team member and with minimal supervision to maximize team results
