In this role as the Sr. General Accounting of Benefits Accounting, you will be key finance partner in supporting benefit and incentive related journals, reconciliations and trial balance analytics for US and Europe partners. Annual, quarterly and monthly reconciliations and analytics are required to ensure benefit and incentive plan expenses are accurately recorded and reported to management in compliance with GAAP. In addition, you will communicate guidance for recording pension journals globally, you'll review the quarterly and annual consolidated actuarial reports for global pension reconciliation to prepare and support required quarterly and annual disclosure reporting.

Responsibilities:

Record financial transactions and related financial statements to be used by management, audit, and internal customers to enable our decisions

Successful completion and passing of internal and external audits

Reduce cost for LS&Co. through process automation, streamlining, centralization, and standardization

Prepare and review journal entries as required using both internal and external data sources

Complete and review balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned

Maintain adequate documentation in compliance with internal controls

Provide audit support to both internal and external auditors to support audit of related financial statements

Proactively identify and facilitate business process improvements

Manage team deadlines and tasks

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Accounting preferred

Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in an environment with multiple entities, both international and domestic

Experience researching non-routine, complex accounting concepts

Knowledge of accounting principles

Strong Excel skills are essential

Experience working with external auditors
