Northrop Grumman is looking for an individual to join the highly dynamic Enterprise as the Configuration Management Lead. The position will report directly to the Configuration Data Management (CDM) Manager in the SEIT IPT.
The configuration management lead plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.
Serves as the focal point for control, storage, retrieval, and delivery of all CM data for selected programs.
Maintain and improve (document, software and hardware) processes and controls specifically for this program
Control engineering and document releases, including plan and coordinate preparation of project documentation (such as engineering drawings, production specifications, programmatic documents and others), to ensure requirements are met
Engage with and work with Change Integration to maintain configuration control of changes.
Maintain the CM Library and baselines
Maintain SW CM Library, process SW requests, maintain media files
Interact frequently with data originators, program managers, and customer representatives concerning project deliverables and deliverable data scheduling requirements
Plan and coordinate preparation of project documentation, such as engineering documentation and drawings, subcontractor specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met.
Review contract requirements to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
Coordinate modification records for management control.
Establish change orders and prepare for change authorization and documentation by internal organizations and subcontractors.
Review and analyze released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.
Prioritize requests and communicate schedule to all stakeholders including customers
Collaborate with other team leads
Perform baseline (product) management, hardware release and replication management, configuration item identification, software build releases, and configuration audits
Control configuration items, product traceability matrices, documents, and software media, CM records, and software libraries
Perform change management and status identification
Bachelors degree with 10 years of related experience, or 8 years of related experience with a Master's degree
Active Secret Security Clearance or higher
Direct experience with software / hardware configuration, data and change management principles, and proficiency in the use of configuration management tools
- Experience with Government Contracting, especially with respect to the Engineering Change Proposal process.
- Experience with AGILE framework program execution, especially as it relates to Software CDM
- History of successful internal, Supplier and Government audit of tools, processes, and practices relative to compliance to these sources.
- History of effective internal assessments, Supplier and Government Functional / Physical Configuration Audits.
- Experienced in response to CARs, creation of CPATS items (including analysis of root cause, corrective actions),
corrective action plans closure, and lessons-learned sharing across programs.
- Expert knowledge of NGAS Command Media, and CDM Industry Standards, including ASME Y14, MIL-HDBK-61, SAE GEIA-859and SAE EIA-649.
- Adept in NGC CDM tools, including TeamCenter, SharePoint, MES, and others relating to Software CDM.
