We are seeking an experienced, creative and motivated Senior Research Associate or a Research Associate to join our growing team in Emeryville.In this role, you will contribute to the company’s efforts to develop next-generation cell therapies in solid tumor malignancies.The successful candidate will have a strong Flow Cytometry background and Cell Line Development Core experience and will be expected to work in a collaborative cross-functional team environment, perform experiments, organize and analyze results, communicate effectively and present findings in team meetings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Seeking a highly motivated individual who shares the enthusiasm for flow cytometry, Automation, CRISPR engineering, Cell biology and loves to learn; general responsibilities include but are not limited to;
Cell line establishment using cutting edge techniques; CRISPR, antibiotic selections, viral, non-viral methods and electroporation
Create, characterize, and maintain novel target and reporter cell lines. Develop and Implement automation in CAR T assays
Perform daily instrument QC, maintain and troubleshoot Flow cytometry instruments
Perform cell sorting on SONY and Fusion cell sorters.
Evaluate new Cytometry technology (Software and Hardware) and stay current on literature relevant to flow cytometry keeping the lab current and upto date.
Test and develop new multicolor panels for T cell Collect, organize, interpret, and present data in small and large group meetings.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
B.S. degree with 4-6+ years of experience, M.S. degree with 2-4 years of experience
Degree in biology-related field required; degree in molecular biology, immunology or cell biology highly preferred
Prior experience in flow cytometry instruments, cell sorting preferred and experience in automation desired
Experience with mammalian cell culture
PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Knowledge in Molecular biology techniques, CRISPR editing, Lenti-viral transduction
Knowledge of flow cytometry.
Single cell sorting
Experience with panel design, compensation, data analysis using FlowJo or other software
Proficiency in the use of software to support data analysis such as FlowJo, FACSDiva, GraphPad
Prism, as well as Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Proliferation and cytotoxicity assays
Proven ability to work and think independently and creatively; be an affable and energetic colleague and team player
