Assist in defining the universe and inter-relationship of operational risk standards so that they are cohesive, comprehensive and easily understood.
Write standards and related documents in a tone consistent with other policy and standards and that clearly communicate minimum requirements and expectations.
Maintain and execute governance routines, including socialization of proposed enhancements, review and management of feedback received, and coordination with the Risk Policy team for the timely publication of updates.
Provide guidance and answer questions related to the standards, escalating questions as needed.
Assist in the review of procedures and training developed by the first line of defense for conformance to Standards.
Assist in developing materials that highlight the essential concepts included in the standards and that can be used for socialization and training purposes.
Maintain the operational risk data domain glossary, coordinating the definition of key operational risk terms with SMEs and other stakeholders.
Execution and manage record retention activities as per firm policy, and coordinate certification of operational risk data glossaries for BCBS compliance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and the first and second line of defense to maintain open communication channels to leverage existing initiatives and incorporate appropriate feedback.
Have 7+ years of total experience and 2+ years of experience in risk or compliance related roles.
Operational Risk in financial services experience preferable.
Demonstrate an exceptional ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple and understandable terms.
Excellent writing and presentation skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of organization with the ability to challenge the status quo and drive consensus.
