The Client

This role is 100% focused on the LVMH account, a major and very recent new win that is being onboarded between March and June 2022. An international sub-agency called Publicis Media Luxe has been formed, as a bespoke team dedicated to the LVMH maisons, of which there around 40 active brands in the UK. In the UK, Publicis Media Luxe team are aligned within Spark Foundry media agency, with access to Spark’s wider team, talent, tools, management and benefits.

Publicis Media won the business in 2020 in 15 markets in Europe and created Publicis Media Luxe, a bespoke agency solution, in all of markets to best serve LVMH.The central agency team leads the relationship out of our White City London hub, coordinating with regional Publicis offices in 17 EMEA countries. You will be joining a new UK specific team being built to service the UK LVMH clients, following our exciting extension of the business into the UK and France in March 2022.

Job Description

The Role:

The Strategy Director will be the strategic lynchpin on the UK account. Working alongside a brilliant team of planners, business leads and investment specialists – you’ll shape the future of media, designing the most creative and exciting campaigns in the industry.

This role will see you developing luxury guidelines, new planning approaches, creative ideation and thought leadership to ensure we are driving desirability and value for LVMH Maisons. 

Just as importantly, you will be working closely with key media platforms, learning about beta products and new formats before the rest of the industry. Together you will define the strategic role and creative jumping off points for these new formats, and how they work inside a fully integrated comms strategy.


LVMH Media

· A key contact for LVMH Media for topics relating to the future of media and communications.

· Work with LVMH Media to identify innovation, new approaches and process that will future proof Maison strategy.

· Create POV’s on key marketing and communications topics as they relate to Luxury. For example the future of print partnerships, the Metaverse and Live Commerce.

· Create channel agnostic platform strategy (eg Meta, TikTok, publisher strategy, reaching into OOH and other channels)

UK Maison HQs

· Build strong client relationships with key Maisons to understand their needs and requirements as they pertain to strategy.

· Lead and present media strategy responses for tier 1 UK briefs.

· Write UK strategy across all channels, driving / briefing / evaluating insight work that the planning team will help you produce.

· Using these insights to form big ideas that inform our media planning recommendations across all channels 

· Have regular strategic conversations and input with senior clients outside of bigger planning processes.

· Proactively identify emerging cultural trends and help with educating the clients.

· Create competitive reviews which include context and analysis of how other luxury brands are operating.

· Work on wider strategy projects that fuel both UK and global work (such as audience segmentations)

Publicis Media Luxe - Local Market Teams & Central Team

· Key POC for all tier 1 UK briefs alongside the planning & account directors

· Work with global team to ensure the UK adopts and leverages multi-market guidelines and strategic principles

· Ensure UK thinking, insights and strategy inform global recommendations

· Help to drive integration with the Publicis Groupe divisions: Publicis Media, Publicis Communications, Publicis Commerce, Publicis Health Care and Sapient

· Develop strategic excellence within the team by running strategic education sessions for the planning and activation team, insight generation sessions, brainstorms for big ideas, etc.

· Identifying and pursuing opportunities to translate these strategies further by leaning into other Publicis practices ( like commerce, production, community management, epsilon, whatever)


Who we’re looking for: 

  • An open minded and free-thinking media strategist, who has previously led campaigns for brands in a relevant field (from luxury to alcohol to entertainment), and has a track record of delivering innovative and creative communications solutions.

  • It is important that you have a desire to work on a luxury brand and that you understand how luxury consumers think, feel and behave in relation to products and services.

  • Following on from this you also need to be passionate about tackling the challenges that face brands in the modern marketing landscape. With a deep understanding of how the changing media landscape can enable brands to engage with consumers and influence their behaviour you will have the ability to articulate new concepts and topics in a way that inspires and educates, but also translates to tangible activation.

  • We’re also looking for someone who is a strong communicator and enjoys presenting their ideas to large groups of people. Someone who has an opinion, and is able to contribute to the many conversations and meetings they’ll be invited to.

  • Most importantly, you will need to be a hands-on strategist, who is able to work closely with both planning and investment to ensure your thinking turns into action. Strategies must have a clear context for the role of media, the opportunities for creativity, and how each channel must behave.
