The ICBM Systems Directorate (ICBMSD) Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Division is beginning the acquisition of an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile system to replace the Minuteman III system. A completed analysis of alternatives for the new missile specified the reutilization of large portions of the infrastructure used in the Minuteman III system. Built in the early 1960s, the infrastructure components and facilities will require refurbishment and modernization to support the GBSD system into the 2075 timeframe.
The Support Systems Lead Engineer will directly support the development, analysis and evaluation of ICBM support equipment, trainers and facilities while providing the Support Systems Leadership related expertise and advice. Additionally, the Support Systems Lead Engineer will:
-Lead the engineering team’s technical analysis of all proposed support equipment and trainer designs, while supporting the government’s evaluation of the proposed designs, deployment strategies and concepts of operation.
-Support requirements development and analysis for 650+ Military Construction (MILCON) and weapons system structures, to include: maintenance facilities (including back-shop activities), operations facilities and security forces facilities.
-Oversee support equipment, trainers and facility software analysis and integration, while supporting government software evaluation and certification activities.
-Support the transition of the Minuteman III weapon system to the GBSD weapon system, meeting all required GBSD deployment timelines.
The position is being filled as a part of the Future ICBM Sustainment and Acquisition Construct (FISAC) under which Leading Manufacturing / Operations Company augments organic government resources by providing breadth and depth of capabilities for system engineering and integration, risk management, technical assessment, acquisition program management, strategy development, organization and change management, interface with operations and logistics, business analysis, mission effectiveness, and ICBM Demonstration / Validation (Dem/Val) Integrated Applications Programs.
This position will be located at or near Hill AFB, Utah.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Field.
15+ years’ experience (13+ years with MS) of progressive engineering experience.
Understand comprehensive support equipment design process, to include: conceptual development, physical design, support to procurement, engineering test, failure root-cause analysis, and integration & support of product qualification.
Experience working in a collaborative, multi-discipline engineering team environment.
Experience in DoD and / or AF acquisition and processes / documentation.
Experience working in a classified environment.
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Active Secret security clearance.
Preferred Skills and Education
Advanced Degree in Engineering Field.
13+ years of progressive experience in analysis of military hardware and systems.
Technical leadership in the context of nuclear weapon systems support, maintenance and/or operations.
Experience with nuclear certification.
Experience with Military Construction (MILCON).
Experience with program manager’s duties and responsibilities.
Experience with Modeling, Simulation & Analysis.
Experience with requirements analysis and traceability, to include: defining, documenting and maintaining requirements within the engineering design process.
Experience with equipment software implementation and integration.
Experience with risk identification and management.
Knowledge of Geospatial Information and Services (GI&S).
Knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
Knowledge of database management.
Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements.
Knowledge of nuclear missile infrastructure.
Skilled in leading, analyzing and reviewing assessment data and developing mitigation measures to reduce risk.
