Group Legal, Compliance & Secretariat ensures that the bank's interests are protected by zealously guarding and enhancing its reputation and capital. Forge effective engagement with key stakeholders on an ongoing basis with the aim to identify areas of concerns and assist to solve the problems by working with the International Centres and Head Office LCS.
Participate in calls between Head of International Centres Legal & Compliance with Legal & Compliance teams in International Centres.
Organise bimonthly International Centres Legal & Compliance Townhalls and ensure their effectiveness through driving agenda and having robust discussions in the meetings.
Participate in monthly International Centres Control Committee (ICCC) Forum/other meetings.
Provide LCS oversight over the International Centres through monitoring, identification of emerging risks and concerns and ensuring effective resolutions are in place.
Act as a liaison with International Centres to assist them in navigating with Head Office LCS.
Identify, lead or participate in new programs/initiatives/reviews contributing to enhancing LCS effectiveness in International Centres.
Bachelor Degree in any related field.
Minimum 10 years’ working experience in the banking industry. Experience in the legal and compliance functions is a must.
Experience in a regional oversight function and dealing with regulators would be an added advantage.
Strong planning, organisational and analytical skills to review and analyse information/situations to identify, articulate the issues on hand and propose solutions.
Able to problem-solve, be creative and think out-of-the-box.
Strong ownership and willingness to resolve issues on an end-to-end basis.
Mature and able to work across different stakeholders and work teams, negotiating and communicating with management on significant issues.
Good written, spoken and listening skills.
Highly motivated and determined individual who is committed to performing.
Works well in a dynamic and changing environment, and has an ability to grow and keep pace with rapid changes in business and regulatory environment.
Able to work independently with strong teamwork values.
