Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of professional experience leading technical teams in security engineering, IT security or security testing and/or computer security.
Experience with cloud security concerns.
Ability to travel as required.
Experience co-creating Cloud roadmaps with customers and/or vendors at the CIO, CTO, CISO, SVP of Engineering level.
Experience with innovative thinking, collaboration and comfort in solving ambiguous problems.
Track record of applying technology to solve security problems.
Track record of accomplishment related to Cloud Security and Privacy.
Ability to leverage organizational depth across functions for the benefit of transformation projects with clients. Demonstrated history sharing lessons learned with peers and internal stakeholders.
Ability to work independently on behalf of customers with minimal guidance, rallying others within their own organization to surge on topics of highest interest.

As the Technical Director, Office of the CTO, Security, you will be a recognized expert in cloud computing security and a proven business communicator. You are excited to get closer to cloud security technology while maintaining or increasing your level of customer interaction. You will use your love of solving challenging security and privacy problems to make breakthroughs. You will stay current on technology spanning the vast expanse of cloud computing (compute, storage, network, analytics, machine learning, mobile, application dev/test/deployment, security) and make things happen through influence, passion and willingness to roll up your sleeves and figure out the solution. You know what it takes to produce secure and privacy respecting software systems and have deep empathy for the challenges facing modern enterprises with respect to security and privacy. You know how to lead through influence and are willing to have an opinion regarding design and/or deployment considerations that focuses on what’s best for the customer.
As a Technical Director, your days may include private whiteboarding sessions with a F500 CISO, public support for emerging technology as a keynote presenter, deep dives with internal engineering teams on the key use cases for a given a launch and/or leading a cross-Google technical working team through a critical engagement with a global brand C-Suite executive. You will be at home on stage, in the meeting room or in private consultation as a trusted adviser, requiring superlative communication skills, patience and a commitment to follow through that inspires confidence.

Partner closely with a few top global companies as their most trusted Google technical advisor.
Identify cloud related design/development/deployment friction points from the customers’ perspective and rally teams to work through deployment hurdles, product updates, new product offerings, and solutions. Work with customers and partners to define joint initiatives and co-create their transformation roadmap.
Tell the Google security and privacy story and help translate it into actionable steps global companies can take towards adoption.
Collaborate across functional and product area boundaries to bring the best of Google to the customer.
Know your own limitations and be willing to ask for help from the broader Google Engineering and PM teams on behalf of the customer.
