We are hiring a Technical Writer to join our team! The individual will support our client, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, in the development, review, revision, and quality control of all types of written documentation. The individual will produce a high volume and quality of policy and procedure documentation.


Compiling, writing, revising, formatting, and editing various types of documents—templates, speeches, correspondence, and presentations—including web content.

Creating and updating various project's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Drafting Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and relevant protocols per client direction. 

Conducting research and analyses relating to existing or required policies and procedures. 

Drafting content for Statements of Work (SOW). 

Creating and uploading documentation to SharePoint site weekly and produces reports. 

Conducting field observations and interviews relating to internal policies and procedures.

Leading peer review activities on individual documents.

Reviewing colleagues’ documents in a timely fashion.

Providing weekly status reports to Directors. 

Verifying facts, data, and statistics using standard reference sources to validate the integrity of the data.

Consulting with Subject Matter Experts to ensure technical accuracy and overall quality of written materials.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

3-5 years of experience in a writing and editing profession

Demonstrated experience in facilitation, coordination, research and analysis; must have a proven ability to review and generate large numbers of technical documents in a timely manner in a challenging operational setting

Exceptional writing skills, with strong attention to detail, especially regarding grammar and punctuation

High level competency with MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel, VISIO, and PowerPoint), as well as enterprise document management software
