This posting is for a Band 4 Chief Engineer to provide technical leadership for Honeywell Urban Air Mobility (UAM) strategy and development. This position will support comprehensive Honeywell UAM strategies and development from an integrated system perspective, including both Propulsion and Avionic System architectures.  

Design Authority (final accountability) for UAM System

Provide leadership for trade study activities to identify optimum Honeywell Urban Air Mobility system and products

Support development of product and technology roadmaps synchronized with UAM strategic growth plans

Support marketing Voice of the Customer, competitive intelligence and build customer advocacy

Act as a technical spokesperson within Honeywell and with OEM customers

Act as a technical focal point with regulatory authorities 

Provide technical oversight/approval in internal and external Concept/Design Reviews and ensure appropriate level of Reviews are conducted

Review and approve technical concepts and Engineering estimates for UAM proposals

Review and approve technical risk assessments and actively support risk management plans 

Review and approve requirements and validation plans 

Support development of qualification and certification strategies, including review and approval of required documentation

Support Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) activities for UAM programs, ensuring appropriate plans are in place to meet key requirements, including Rolled Throughput Yield, Design-To Cost and Quality

Provide training and mentoring to build capability and effectiveness of UAM Engineering team

Provide oversight and guidance to related Advanced Technology projects

Lead the Engineering & Technology Intellectual Property Plan for UAM Systems


Bachelor of Science Degree

15 years’ experience in the design, development, qualification, and field issue resolution of Aircraft Avionic and/or Propulsion System Products


Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering

Extensive experience in the design, development, test, qualification and certification of Aircraft Avionics and/or Propulsion Systems

Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to mobilize teams and guide process to obtain consensus with multiple stakeholders
