Reporting directly to the Lead Senior Vice President of the Division, the Chief of Staff will provide critical management oversight for the Division by managing the Division’s training and onboarding programs, and partnering with other senior staff in the Division to track and assist in the execution of division-wide goals. The Chief of Staff will also serve as a proxy for the SVP in senior level meetings across the portfolio. The successful candidate will be an expert communicator, passionate about coaching, highly organized and have specialized vertical skills in real estate, planning, finance and construction management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides direct support across the entire AMO portfolio, including the creation of the annual expense budget.
Serve as a proxy for the Lead SVP and SVP of Construction in critical meetings and negotiations with President’s office staff, other division heads, other agencies, elected officials, tenants, developers and community.
Run all Division-wide trainings on key topics and processes, bringing in industry experts to assist.
Directly manage Division content by creating and keeping the Standard Operating Procedures up to date.
In partnership with Division Senior Staff, manage the annual budget process.
Work with Division Senior Staff to manage the hiring process across the division.
Own, update and manage the Division’s on-boarding program in partnership with senior staff.
Develop and/or participate in special projects including preparing reports for, and making presentations to Leading Real Estate Company Presidents Office, City Hall, City Commissioners, elected officials and other executive level forums as required.
Assist in the development and implementation of key initiatives critical to the mission of Leading Real Estate Company.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years of experience in real estate development, asset management, construction management, management consulting, economic development and/or related field.
Familiarity with the construction drawings and terminology desired
Exceptional interpersonal skills, professional demeanor and ability to communicate with and present to executive level managers
Expert, creative and detail-oriented time-management and project management skill set
Expert communicator with highly developed analytical thinking
Ability to prioritize among competing needs and opportunities and manage multiple projects at the same time
2+ years of direct supervisory experience
Fluency in Microsoft Office
Valid driver’s license
New York City residency (required within 180 days of hire)
