Responsible for and serves as the global lead and senior subject matter expert for all of TSYS’s Encryption Services-related operations, research, and compliance oversight related to Crypto-Key Management, Certificate Management, and the encrypted storage/transmission of customer and internal data.Additionally, would be responsible for Encryption-related compliance, which is instrumental to maintaining TSYS’ PCI certification.Manages the development, implementation, and enforcement of the enterprise encryption program pertaining to the above responsibilities.Establishes encryption guidelines and policies and ensures the risk exposure of the organization is within these guidelines. Conducts periodic audits to assess compliance levels.Develops processes for effective and efficient reporting and data analysis to minimize risk exposure.Consults on an ongoing basis on related issues with managers, executives, and the Executive Leadership Team.Ensures conformance with applicable laws and regulations and ensures regular training is conducted on compliance issues.Cultivates and maintains strategic relationships among key corporate IT professionals, the greater BTS/GTS team, and a variety of ES-related Trade Associations.

Essential Functions

Oversees global encryption technology and programs: identifies, defines, tracks, and reports status to senior executives and Board of Directors.Ensures regulatory changes are reflected in policies, communicated to enterprise, and followed.

Oversees provision of uninterrupted enterprise key management for symmetric and asymmetric key management life cycles (generate, load, securely store, inventory quarterly, rotate Master Keys, renewal, revoke, and destroy) and policies to support secure authorization and protection of cardholder data and client products, card production, and client projects. Administers the development of platform access to Application Programming Interface (APIs) used in conducting service calls to crypto hardware modules for key management systems.

Drives global cryptography solutions, enhancements, and new products to increase security, revenue, and reduce risk.Directs business and technical teams on complex key management and data encryption application development, systems, and architecture to meet regulations and client specifications.Leads Enterprise Cryptography Steering Committee and initiatives.Negotiates solution terms and pricing.Ensure controls for development, hardware, and security requirements are implemented mitigating risk.

Interacts with Federal Examiners, auditors and clients to demonstrate compliance with regulations and client contracts.Responds to client due diligence inquiries regarding encryption which may affect long term relationships with clients, operating results, or reputation.Works with segment management to establish global processes, procedures, policies, and assessments.Coordinates with enterprise teams to ensure auditable, repeatable procedures exist.

Directs and manages $4+ million dollar budget including monthly variances, line of business allocations, management fees, forecasts, budget development, invoice approval, capitalization, and budgeted turnover.Oversees operations within CY Budget guidelines.

Specific duties include

Primary assistant to Senior Vice President, Global Technology Services as the senior executive advisor to all three segment presidents, the ELT, and BOD on global cryptologic policies and procedures, to include enterprise-wide encryption key and certificate management programs.

Builds relationships between the company and subject-matter experts throughout the global payments industry, including critical vendors, QSA auditors, regulators, and client encryption teams.

Oversees provision of uninterrupted global key management for symmetric and asymmetric key management life cycles (generate, load, securely store, inventory quarterly, rotate Master Keys, renewal, revoke, and destroy) and policies to support secure authorization and protection of cardholder data and client products, card production, and client projects.

Administers programs concerning the research and development of platform access to Application Programming Interface (APIs) used in conducting service calls to crypto hardware modules for key management systems.Ensures controls for development, hardware, and security requirements are implemented mitigating risk.Drives global cryptography solutions, enhancements, and new products to increase security, revenue, and reduce risk. 

Directs business and technical teams on complex key management and data encryption application development, systems, and architecture to meet regulations and client specifications.

Negotiates solution terms and pricing-data in direct support of enterprise-wide sales and account management teams. Additionally, provides direct support to contract-development teams. 

Serves as the primary senior corporate representative in several Encryption Services-related trade organizations such as the Financial Services - Information Sharing Advisory Council (FS-ISAC), Payment Processor Information Sharing Council (PPISC), American National Standards Institute (ANSI) work groups, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) work groups, and Payment Card Industry (PCI) committees.

Interacts with Federal Examiners, auditors and clients to demonstrate Encryption program compliance with Payment Card Industry standards, applicable regulations and client contracts. Responds to due diligence inquiries regarding encryption operations and management which may affect long term relationships with clients, operating results, or reputation.Works with segment management to establish global processes, procedures, policies, and assessments.Coordinates with enterprise teams to ensure auditable, repeatable procedures exist.

Provides additional advice and analytical support regarding risk-related impacts of potential M&A decisions (due diligence process) and decisions or events that impact TSYS’ 10K filings.

Leadership Attributes

Scope of Responsibilities: Responsibilities are across the enterprise including all segments.

Planning Horizon: Leads planning for a 1-2 year time horizon, aligned with longer term business strategies and goals.

Reporting Relationships: Typically reports to a Senior Vice President. May report to an Enterprise Officer or Executive.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study from an accredited university; relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.

Typically a minimum of 12 years related professional experience including a minimum of 8 years experience in a managerial position.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in a related field of study from an accredited university.

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from ISC2.
