Rackspace is seeking a Vice President of Investor Relations (IR) who is passionate about cloud technology and IT services. Backed by some of the world’s leading private equity firms and with publicly traded debt, Rackspace has a large existing shareholder base and is a leader in the cloud IT services industry. The Vice President of IR will be responsible for leading our investor relations program, working closely with corporate finance, corporate communications, and executive leadership to develop, execute, and communicate our corporate strategy to investors, employees, ratings agencies, the financial community, and other constituents.

Job Duties:

Create and execute overall investor relations road map

Provide guidance and guidelines to CEO/CFO on key investor messages and run quarterly earnings process

Coordinate with finance, marketing and legal teams on all investor marketing materials and communications

Support Finance and Corporate Development teams in managing investment banking and lending relationships

Work with Finance and Treasury teams to optimize capital structure

Manage ongoing communications with investors and the financial community

Organize Rackspace investor events and coordinate/attend/speak at industry events

Maintain Rackspace investor relations portal

Research relevant industries with a focus on market size, competitive landscape, and valuations

Maintain investor databases and transaction logs, and work with Finance and third parties to identify opportunities to enhance our corporate communications strategy with the financial community


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.

10+ years of specific work experience in investor relations, investment banking, strategy consulting, and/or corporate communications

Deep familiarity with financial and legal reporting requirements of publicly traded companies

Experience working in a technology company a plus

Ability to work closely and collaboratively with senior executive leaders and board members

Outstanding communication skills; written, verbal and presentation

Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills

Excellent organizational and project management skills

High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

Strong work ethic, integrity, mature personality, and comfortable working with and presenting to senior executives.

Ability to make sound decisions quickly, evaluating relevant context under pressure.

Ability to develop and deliver messaging, presentations, and communications to varying audiences, adapting deliver methods and styles.
